In the recent 1UP interview it was hinted the possibility of Ghosts being of both genders in-game. This, of course, brings Nova to mind. Do you think Nova will somehow feature into SC2? (Just like how Thrall from Lord of the Clans' storyline went into WC lore).
Also, this picture here shows a female Ghost behind Arturus. My thought is that SC2's Ghosts will remain as males, but campaign-wise female Ghosts will feature as Specters (advanced Ghosts introduced from SC:G lore). If I'm not mistaken Nova of SC:G is being trained/already is a Specter.
Your thoughts?
Poll: How will SC:G and Ghosts in general be in SC2? (Vote): SC:G? Blasphemy! (Vote): Male Ghosts, female Specters, and SC2 will have SC:G lore integration

Lol. You guys never heard of something called speculation have you?

Look at AoE. They had both male and female citizen workers, still no difference between em
Yeah. But I'm talking about the possibility of having Nova and the Specters. I highly doubt the male Ghosts in melee games will be changed, but if Specters are in, it'll be interesting since they might have different abilities from normal Ghosts then eh?
Lol why does it have to matter? Of course, it wont be a game-changing discussion or anything. To simply out of curiosity see what other's thoughts are regarding a particular matter; is that so wrong?
EDIT: For people that don't see the point of this thread, just don't post non-constructive posts Vote or don't vote, and maybe drop a comment of your own two cents worth. I'm just curious to know the community's thoughts on this topic. It's as simple as that.
it would buff the terran quite a bit maybe the male would have lockdown and female would havenuke/ cloak and have diffrent stats to even it out, but if you think of it that way, then 1 gohst could their entire amount of energy dedicated to lockdown and the other completly dedicated to cloak, the cost might go up or down or whichever blizzard wants it to, but having more than 2 spellcasters in a race would buff it, and the pros who play terran would obviously dominate because they have enough micro and knowledge to use spellcasters to the full extent.
its the same way as if zerg would use defilers lots or toss would use dark archons
i saw a video on youtube where a defiler was being attacked by a wraith or something and ds where he was made some unit i couldnt what, consumed it and darkswarmed all the way somewhere, but kept it alive. i lolololed in my pants casue it was brilliant, although it took lots of time and micro away fro mthe rest of the game. but still. it was sweet.
i think sc2 should have a single ghost, like AoE, they could be diffrnet genders generated at random, but would do the same stuff.
No female ghost units, but Nova will be a hero ghost. I hope heroes will have abilities that aren't in multiplayer (like 1 per hero), that would make replaying the campaign more interesting...
agreed, I'm sure that no one wants to give normal units tons of special abilities like in WC3, but the heros in the campaigns should have a few extra (it was like that way in original SC too). That way we can satisfy both the pro gamers and the UMS players.
When was gender ever an issue in the game? All units could be female and it wouldnt make a difference, so I dont see why you even expect a discussion out of this thread.
I hope the campaign isnt mind numbingly boring like SC BW or original SC (which was a bit better because it was original). I think it should not be like melee games, but rather objective based.

Specter is exactly a ghost... cept different name or some trivial details. Iono why they use 2 different word for the same thing though haha, but then again there's a lot of words like that... for instance. Encyclopedia vs Dictionairy, similar things, diff names. Or say you can use "Asking" or "Questioning" or "Inquiring". Slightly different things with different words expressing them.
But hmm let me look for a formal definition.
spec·ter (spĕk'tər) pronunciation n.
1. A ghostly apparition; a phantom. 2. A haunting or disturbing image or prospect: the terrible specter of nuclear war.
vs
ghost (gōst) pronunciation n.
1. The spirit of a dead person, especially one believed to appear in bodily likeness to living persons or to haunt former habitats. 2. The center of spiritual life; the soul. 3. A demon or spirit. 4. A returning or haunting memory or image.
Same thing eh? Except see how ghost is more spirit/person/haunting in the after life/memory connotative, while specter is more visual/image/projection connotative.
Like I saw my mother's ghost. Means that ghost has some personality or the like, while if you say "I saw random specters in the grave", it merely means you saw some ghostly thing that has no emotional/personal attachments to you, but they just appeared for visual side kick.

Remind me again why they would train ghosts differently based on gender instead of just giving them all the training?

It didn't take micro away from the game because that was the last drone alive escaping from the last terran unit ;X
Anyway, I don't get the rest of your posts.. "As if zerg would use defilers lots" <- defilers are built nearly every zvt/zvp?
Aren't ghosts like super genetically modified, half robotic, and have all sorts of lights and screens in their faces? Are they still even human anymore? I doubt gender matters for them.

Well it's important for some people, they want to know if they can jack off of the female ghosts

Okay I shouldn't be doing this bye library time.
Ok that's very interesting (no really it is), but in SC A spectre is just a Ghost injected with Terranzine gas to enhance them, or something along those lines.

what the hell is wrong with you? the op is using information, and concept art available to us, and has made an informed guess/speculation about the nature of campaign play. it's not as if he was bored at school during recess and went "hmmm, zomg chick ghosts wud b hawt lawlz, they can lock me down kekeke" and posted it here. furthermore, blizzard has also mentioned that sc:g is very much on their minds, so it's not a stretch to assume nova, or spectres are part of the canon. there have been way more outlandish suggestions than the possibility that just like in sc and bw, sc2 will have a female ghost hero.
furthermore, ziel has made a lot of threads giving us scoops about sc2, contributing to the forum, so i think he's pretty safe.

1. Do you think Nova will feature in SC2 like how Thrall did for WC3? (Lord of the Clans was a canceled WC game just like SC:G got canceled)
2. Perhaps there will be Specters (advanced Ghosts) in SC2? (SC:G integration)
Terran lacks a good tier 3 melee unit. The only melee unit Terran possesses is the firebat.
yea, and also, Protoss lacks a world-beating range unit that's fastest in the game and costs less than a zealot. Oh, and while you're at it, a ground-attack unit that has the best range out of anything in the game, and does splash to boot

owned by dark swarm and ultralisk too much ?
I have a feeling dark swarm might not be in SC2, due to the fact that terran dont have a melee unit.
Then again, with all their new aoe attacks (plasma torpedoes, banshee, etc.) maybe terran wont have much of a problem with dark swarm anymore, so blizzard might keep dark swarm
