Take a horrendous trash talker/balance whiner and that kind of warped logic of nothing is ever my fault/I always outplay my opponent/the opponent played the ‘wrong way’/my opponent hacks or whatever. Now amplify the toxicity levels a bit and apply that mindset to your entire life, which really seems to be how Avilo’s brain works, whatever name one would choose to put on it. I am genuinely unsure if he doesn’t know what he’s doing is wrong, or simply doesn’t care. | ||

I feel like we need to draw a line somewhere, can't just ban everyone based on what people have posted, some stories are very very tame and can barely be qualified as sexual harassment, more like awkward attempt at flirting, can't just destroy people's lives for not being attractive or for misjudging what is appropriate or not when it comes to flirting | ||

Yes he keeps up the abuse by making accounts on Twitch and donating money to the target and using that as a means of sending a message attached to it, also apparently by making new Discord names. | ||

To my mind that's the only "outstanding issue". Not because of some desire for revenge or anything, but because he used and continues to use his platform to abuse. I mean it's all out in the open and clear, so it's not like it should be a hard decision. | ||

They’ve had him permanently banned for really rather a long time I’m not sure how you can stop a guy with an endless appetite for switching IP address and making burner emails signing up to donate to a streamer so her donation bot reads out a message. Presumably he’s using throwaway PayPals or w/e too so you couldn’t even block donations via his associated accounts. There’s some dedicated Avilo chroniclers out there, I don’t really see the need to know much more, stems into voyeuristic territory. Guy wasn’t the most pleasant at times in his days being active on TL but he’s fallen off a cliff behaviour since he went off the radar of the likes of yourself. I did encounter a video in a Twitter thread, he donated a couple hundred dollars just for the privilege of announcing his presence to the victim of his stalking, who started crying shortly after and stopped streaming. ESL should, and probably will ban him from their tournaments now Apollo has publicly acknowledged being aware of such behaviour. Even if he does try to smurf his way around a ban, I still think it’s important symbolically to ban that ID and deny the oxygen of publicity. | ||

Twitch probably can suspend people from streaming temporarily while they look into it. I see no problem with that as long as it's deemed credible enough. That being said I'm not sure its fair to twitch to suddenly expect them to start investigating all these allegations themselves and deciding what warrants banning. Sports leagues kind of have the same issue regarding this stuff. Just the issues that come with giving people platforms. I really have no problem with twitch just not having people stream for like a week or something well they attempt to gather more information given that it meets some minimum criteria of course | ||
