He isn't beating Dark but luckily Dear isn't getting out of his ro16 group either
He's gonna have to rely on Classic not being allowed to go, or doing at least two rounds better than Dear in super tournament
Imagine TY advancing a round in a Super Tournament.
I do think part of the reason he never did well in them was because he was always a lock for blizzcon anyway, and has always been good enough financially to not need it.
Rogue and Maru have been the same. The one time Rogue urgently needed to do well in super tournament he won it.
I think TY has a very good chance against Dark. Dark did not impress in his group even though he advanced in first, and TY isn't going to make a mistake like not building ghosts.

Super tournament is a weekender, that's why Maru doesn't win it
If TY thinks he can beat Serral(and he went up 3-2 against him), he shouldn't be scared by Dark in his most recent shape.

TY's TvZ is not the best in the world but it's still quite good while Dark in 2019 is not the ZvT monster he used to be last year.

Maru also said last year he didn't bother practicing for super tournament because Code S was more important. Super tournament has never been necessary for TY (in terms of wcs points or money) until now. For Maru it still isn't.

Super Tournaments are played shortly after Code S' Grand Finals, it really seems a weak excuse(and it doesn't justify Maru winning a single non preparation tournament in his whole career).
I would like to see TY winning Super Tournament, maybe being pressed to do well will make him go further this time.

It may seem like a weak excuse but it makes sense. These guys have more money than they're realistically going to spend anyway (Maru and TY don't even find most online events worth playing in) and WCS points are usually irrelvent for these guys. Like I said, the only time Rogue ever needed to do well in super tournament he aced it.
Do we know for a fact Classic can’t attend BlizzCon? If so then #9 is really #8... but it’s a shame that a player with results as good as his won’t be able to participate... YES EVEN A PROTOSS. Classic clearly has done enough to deserve the opportunity at this point.
