What's pro TvP going to be like in the new season? Short, if Group B was anything to go by. Trap, Cure, TY, and herO all looked to seize the initiative early on in their Ro16 group, bringing with them a slew of proxies, timings, and early-game tricks (the losers match did offer some room for new EMP shenanigans, with both Cure liberally coating herO's army with EMPs in a couple of lengthier games).
Last season's runner-up Trap proved to be the most proficient on both the offensive and defensive end, and was the first to escape the melee with victories over Cure and TY.
TY came through in second place, surviving his initial match against an aggressive-minded herO, losing the winners match to Trap, and then taking out Cure in the sole mirror-match of the night. Advancing to the quarterfinals keeps TY's WCS Global Finals campaign alive, as he now stands just outside the cutoff at #9 in the rankings.
With Group A and B complete, two quarterfinal matches are set on opposite sides of the bracket: Dark vs TY and KeeN vs Trap. The Code S Ro16 will resume on Wednesday, Sep 04 9:30am GMT (GMT+00:00) with Group C, which has been pegged as the group of death. Maru, Solar, Stats, and Rogue will fight for two quarterfinal spots. (check out Liquipedia for more information).
Obviously Dark vs TY is a really hype matchup but I think KeeN vs Trap could become something very cool, at this point wouldn't be surprised in either one winning despite Trap being favored on paper.

Would be nice for him to have the run of his career since it's his last season
No chance for Keen. Trap is currently the best PvT player

herO is a victim of his own nature honestly. He should never lose the 2nd game against Cure. But instead he decides to suicide on the planetary. On even bases. And not just once.

Trap may currently be the best PvT player and he's favored over Keen, who's not totally hopeless to be honest.

Was unfortunate he had to play the TvT player in the decider. I think he had a better shot against Trap.
Honestly the games were solid I really thought he had a shot against TY, BUT I LOVE TY so it's all good haha
The TvT was honestly not close at all. Cure just survived for a long time because his macro is honestly insane. But he was outplayed the entire time.
True but I think holding your own and forcing g a game to extend, at least game one, showed he was a great player and had me worried for game two, game two was a beatdown tho

Yea I think there is a chance but it's not super high maybe like 3-1 odds for trap

Id give it trap too at the moment but Aliguliac has Dear as best PvT. It used to be Classic.
Trap seemed to have a really good understanding of the matchup pre patch.
As usual TY is just a baller but everything went against him in his match with Trap--it was comical. Even Tastosis were in on the "did he piss off God" jokes. Not to take anything away from Trap...this lad's looking solid as usual these days.
Feelsbadman for Cure. His TvT is quite good, but anyone (including Maru) has to be on their A game against TY.
TY regularly despairs against P/Z on stream but always replies with "TvT easy" when asked about that matchup. Really hope he has a good finish for S3 and Super Tournament 2 so he can make it to BlizzCon. Would love to see him get revenge on Serral for the last two tourney losses.
