Few months ago ESCChamp had a podcast with team owners from NA and EU, they all agreed that teams doesn't get much exposure in the game or on the streams, from casters etc..
But that got me thinking, we had something like this in the past... So I started digging in my youtube library of SC2 history and I found this!

This would perfectly solve the issue of promotion and actually could show off team sponsors (because that's what sponsors care about right... right ???) So the ultimate question for me was:
If this was developed into WCS GH 2.0, why is not in the 3.0 version ? A small interface where observers(referees) could prepare allthe logos of teams and sponsors would perfectly showoff everything needed.
If anyone has any information about this please post it here and let's talk about it.

It is still available in all the subsequent WCS GH mods, it just takes a lot effort to make asset for it, and with the diminishing presence of teams, it's kinda hard to justify the time investment, plus it's not that easy to get an accurate list of sponsor stuff to add without contacting team management, which is surprisingly something harder than you think.

To be honest even just getting a sc2logos(that shows the team logos in game) file that has all the team logos is a pain. If someone out there maintained one I would happily use it in all my broadcasts.

Well the diminishing precence of teams can be combated by adding this feature there... if getting the list of sponsors is hard, than team logos should be pretty easy to get (you teams have websites right ^^?)
And YES unfortunately getting in touch with some team management is pain in the butt, hence why I would love to see an interface which would be loading assets from your hard drive or a cloud.
With the viewership rising and buzz around DeepMind it would be pretty cool feature (at least we can forgive casters to almost never mention team names ^^).

Thanks for the shout out.
maybe someone else can chime in and clarify this for me
As I understood it there are 2 mods going. WCS GH 3.0(one produced by Blizzard) and the GH 3.0 maintained by Ahli, afaik the GH 3.0 still allows for logos and the like.

The images in the 3D world are not supported, I believe. I cannot remember how that worked, though. Ryan Schutter, aka rts, created it during a project in Blizzard's HQ before joining the SC team many years ago.
I've documented the Logos.SC2Mod information that I support in the GameHeart Obs UI here. It has a few extensions compared to the first version of the Logos.SC2Mod that was created many years ago. It basically just lets you edit a few more labels.
The Logos.SC2Mod allows you to use player introduction panels in the WCS and GameHeart UI.
If you have problems or questions, let me know. If I find the time, I am happy to help.
If a website provides the information, it would be possible to write a small program that builds the mod from a directory (I basically have 90% of such a program already done as I created my own Obs UI Builder for SC2 and Heroes). The main problem is that somewhere the information needs to be saved in an accessible way and need to be maintained (*cough* liquipedia? *cough*).

Well thing is all the official events should be casted with WCS 3.0 overlay if you are community caster (or it was when i was able to do it)
alpha tl website stores alot of logos somewhere and thats maintained by teams themselfs and that would be already enough team logo + tournament logo on the map and boom easy! at least something to show team appretiation.

Yeah but it's hard to customize and can't be done by everyone, meanwhile there are so many events and teams that would appreciate it a lot.
P.S: No problem I like ur content ^^

Team visibility is something that has really quietly fallen to the wayside. I feel like there's a bit of a chicken-egg dilemma here: It's become less important to cater to teams as they've become less capable of supporting players, but it's also hard for teams to grow and give their players support without actually being able to display their brand in the actual games.
