So if I get this right, those that won the qualifier for WCS Leipzig for Europe and North America get a seed to the qualifier, not those that actually did well in Leipzig, like Showtime who reached the final or Special, who reached the semi. Sounds a bit weird to me to be honest. I think it would have been better to skip this and let everyone qualify. That would mean more action for us viewers, and we could do with that.

Ah, my bad. I thought Mexico belonged to North America geographically speaking.

I like the changes on the format, is a balanced point between old (2014/2015) WCS format and the last iteration of the Challenger. Looking forward to see how it goes.

Mexico does belong to NA geographically speaking, (as do some other countries which are not the USA or Canada) but their WCS region is Latin America

Yeah, confusing stuff. Shifting Mexico to Latin America gives the region more weight I suppose (pun intended )

I'm going to be a Community Caster for these qualifiers and who knows what else, hopefully i can bring some more eyes to this and to players playing in it.

There obv will be other Community Casters as well for it, if a player in the brackets is about to start a game and wants their game casted and i'm not already in a game casting...let me know and i'll cover it. I want to cast as many games as possible and give coverage to as many players and as much of the bracket as possible

I know there's a lot of controversy surrounding avilo, but I always support when a person/player/organization supports a scene. He has a large following, and he can bring a wider exposure to the NA scene than other people.

Are you trying to qualify too or just casting?

Tuned in briefly, and avilo is a surprisingly good caster. He was doing some decent analysis in a crazy printf game, talking about walling off and mindgames and potential counters and so forth, and pretty enthusiastic.

Also not raving about maphacking or imbalance or anything like that, talking about "900 IQ plays from Protoss"

Well he's not the one playing, so he can afford to be magnanimous.

The funny part is that the Terran in-game is TheRiddler or something but is playing on an account named "avilo"

Oh and avilo is wearing a suit, for some reason.

Yeah, he plays for Waterloo in the CSL under that name iirc.

Woah! Kane making his way through the winners bracket, that's a name I haven't seen in a long time. Go Kane! Hope he qualifies.
I root for Euro Zergs, NA Protoss* and Korean Terrans. (Any North American who has beat a Korean Pro as Protoss counts as NA Toss)

Did NoRegreT (and Semper for that matter) not show up, or did two times Code S player NoRegreT lose to Farmcakes?

One of my favourite memories is him making it past Polt in the WCS qualifiers and then doing an interview half-naked.

Bracket says NoRegreT beat "BadSheep" in the losers bracket, so he presumably was there, unless they were all no shows? Edit: Apparently he overslept and didn't make it.

puCK got knocked out by printf though!

NoRegret and puCK are both playing from Korea, and the qualifier started at about 9 AM for them. 150+ ping and overall tiredness explains a lot.
