Hello TL, I discovered this today in the Adopt a newb Chat, someone was obviously very upset about it.

A 5400-5500 GM Zerg on NA server is the hacker, the creep spreads automatically by itself, he selected it manually once or twice but the rest of it seems to be spreading automatically.

You can see this by noticing he never selects the creep spread, and it spreads automatically in perfect synchronization and unison, here is the replay proving it so you can see it with your own eyes.

I for one am disgusted, I was enjoying playing SC2 again but now with it being F2P, there is nothing stopping hackers it seemed, and with them in GM easily with hacks, it really breaks the ladder so much.

Banned? make a new account.

Here is the proof now.

dont really understand how people enjoy playing with hacks, perhaps their motive is to make players leave the game thats why they do it.

Yeah, it's pretty messed up to have a component of the game done automatically. It is unfair.

On the other hand, If someone made an AI that could compete at that level without any human input, I would argue they should be allowed to see how far their AI can get.

But assisted gameplay is pretty lame to be on the ladder.

Maybe a separate AI ladder would be legit.

If you watch the replay from the Zerg's point of view you'll notice what ever he's using also auto injects essentially meaning all he does himself is build units and micro. Because the game is F2P players like this can't be banned and have the whole ladder by the balls as only way to stop this is to block what ever it is he's using when he plays.

I taught that starcraft 2 is one of those games where people cant hack and that makes it a good game. In this hacking case its obvious that some kind of antihack software would be of use.

On the other hand, hacks like auto creep spread or auto injects is allmost okay because players can with skill naturally do that every game, however I have heard about the map hack, not sure how it works but I read that it pretty much reveals fog of war and then the game becomes unbalanced over the limit of fair play.

Auto inject/ creep spread is stupidly over power even at GM level, no one even come close to perfect creep spread and almost always slip up on the inject a couple of time durring the game. Plus all the time and attentiom you save that can be use elsewhere.

Sc2 can be hack like every other game, I would not say free to play made it easier, there were hacker before and I did not seems to notice an explosion of their number in the last few month. Just send the replay to blizz and they will work to fix the hack.

Well Blizzard will find a way to block it.

Blizzard are pretty good , especially compared with other gaming companies.

First of, fact of the matter is if you had analyzed the replay the creeps was spreading even when he was taking fights and was not even look at the tumors themselves during the fights when spreading the creep.. yes i agree the purpose of creep is to give you map vision, that is part of the game, but, it is still cheating if its automated and having some software doing it on your behalf giving you an edge over your opponent is clearly not fair by any means.

I hope you are being sarcastic mate. Blizzard has the worst technical support out of any major online multiplayer gaming company and they have never managed to rid their games of hacks. Hell, I've filled out a support ticket for a major issue with sc2 in december and made sure to keep bumping my post, they still haven't fixed the issue. They actually suspended my blizzard forum account citing *harassment* because I kept asking them to fix the issue. Extremely bad and unethical behavior from blizzard technical support there. The fact that this game is now free to play is a huge detriment to the survival of multiplayer since hackers can just create as many accounts as they want.

They got your money at the end of 2015 and now the game is free to play.

I mean, is there really anything else to be said?

Auto injects and creep spread has a massive impact as creep not only grants vision but gives a speed boost, one of the key resource in SC2 is vision as that gives you info and map control. Auto inject speaks for itself as that gives someone automated macro as now they'll always have larva available, the higher up in the leagues you get the more powerful such a program becomes as the players APM is being made far more efficient than their opponents due to not needing to deal with certain mechanics themselves.

there's really no argument in defense of, or in mitigation of the impact of these hacks. they're a bunch of crap. blizzard does take hacking very seriously and i'm confident in their ability to respond to and eliminate them. give them a chance, guys.

It's a script is it? So lame.

Why do people feel it necessary to use something like this? Lazy fucks.

According to people on Bnet it's a program that executes particular commands the player chooses so it's likely not exclusively used for Zerg.

so, you think it can be used for mules and/or chrono? I dunno... this 'hack' is kinda weak-sauce compared to map hacking etc.

Disclaimer: I didn't watch/parse replay yet.
If it is just use a script and keybinds/clicker it wouldn't be much of a concern.
If he can inject commands in packets it means he can decrypt his side of player input and sync with the game engine. I do not think it is any harder to decrypt and read the partially written replay or portion of memory. The algorithm has to be fast after all.

Edit: Just watched it. Around 7:10 the right hand side/ 3 o'clock tumors was created without being selected (or too far too fast to notice).
I think the replay records the player screen position but not screen size. So if somehow a command was given outside our viewing range does it render correctly (since you can select under command card and in certain circumstances off screen)?

There is a confirmed-working, high end map hack that is currently circulating the pay-to-use end of the hacking community.

The macro scripting you are seeing here has been active since about December, apparently.

it has a range of uses outside of the creep spreading too. From what i'm reading... it auto injects, rapid batches, auto selects all drones, or lings, or roaches, or hydras. There is an auto ovie key, an inject reminder (BUILD PROBE THROWBACK LOLLLLLLLL+ Show Spoiler +
https://youtu.be/gdxJBH_yxQQ?t=32s - the hero we formerly knew as patchtoss
) idle worker search, auto ctrl group add, split micro........ wtf...

apparently they're planning to add auto ovie patrol, smart casting (wtf? dont know how they'd even do that - quite sure smart casting with shift is the best... and it's a legal thing in tournaments?) and smart patrol with lings on xel nagas (automatically done w/ some hotkey)

As always when I post this information - fuck these hacker guys.
But, this information serves to better your knowledge about it rather than complaining about hackers every time you play.

If you see protech or avilo complaining about random shit you now know what is real and what isn't.

edit: i will add - the MH referenced has apparently been restricted to a really small number of people; so the number of high lvl players using it is probably close to 0. Also, as the game ages we are seeing a lot less of that stuff around GM/high masters. So, if you're playing in that range i'd guess the chances of actually meeting a MHer atm is almost 0%
