When you watched WCS Austin or Jonkchoping werent you proud of foreiners and didnt u wonder how well would these guys do against koreans?
Major, Scarlet, Elazer... Neeb, Nerchio, Serral.. their skill level, mechanics and the understanding of SC2 is very very good! They dont make many mistakes like foreiners used to do.. Why cant they compete with the best all of the sudden?? SC2 is not a hobby for them anymore but the real job to get money from.
And Koreans.. are just Koreans lol. They are humans just like everybody else. They were and still are just as good as before. They take esport very serioously just like foreiners these days.
Anyhow, Im soooooooo happy that 5 foreigners made it to GSL S. Im pretty sure more would if they decided to play the qualifariers. Is there anyone who says that Serral, Kelazhur, Nerchio, Snute is not GSL code S progamer?? They are bad ( wcs backtoback champion = codeA player ) and they deprive ro32 players of what it comes to them, their only source of income. So, they have to retire to make a living, just because scarlett and his troop wanted to get 2-0ed by INnoVation. But ye, we are wrong. Wasnt the only source of income for foreigners the tournamets dominated by Koreans few years ago? wasnt it the main reason for foreiners that they took SC2 and e-sport as a hobby?? how can u live and provide for yourself (dont mind your familly) if all of the money Koreans grabbed because they had estabished team houses and so on and so forth? Its not perfect but for now is enuf to lower the gap between Koreans and foreigners. I guess ppl from previous era should brace themself for even more tournaments where Koreans loose to foreigners. I bet soon the gap will be so small that blizzard removes the region lock.

Is this the most foreigners in a GSL Code S ever? I know some of the early ones had quite a few (HuK, IdrA, TLO, Jinro, Haypro, etc) Anyhow, great job guys!
As for the complaints about the "low-tier" Koreans being cheated out of their "paychecks" - while I sympathize, it is a competition. If you want to be guaranteed money from a competition you have to be good enough to qualify, no? You can't just show up and get paid, that's not how a competitive scene works. Like Nadal or Federer can't go to the French Open and complain about missing a paycheck when someone knocks them out in the early rounds. I don't really get it but whatever, happy to see so many good players (new and old) in Code S, looking forward to the season ^_^. GGs all!

All you said is true, but it's unfair when Dreamhacks are region locked and GSLs are not.
If GSL is a competetion and nobody should be upset about stronger foreigners taking the spots of weaker Koreans, than it should be okay for Koreans to take the spots of weaker foreigners in the WCS circuit.
Either open up everything to everybody (much prefered solution) or protect both regions with region lock.

Dont you see the problem ? GSL is free for all to come, yes. So is WCS, let the Korean participate because they should be allowed to. What is the point of banning Korean when the gap is close enough flr foreigners to compete ?

This is the biggest joke in Starcraft 2 History. Impossible to take that serious

sick performance from the non koreans
also zest :/

SC2 is a not thing in Korea anymore. The absolutely top players are still destroying foreigners, but the rest of the playerbase has no reason to practice without a reasonable proleague. GSL average level will be lower with every season, but the top dogs are gonna dominate and take all the cash anyway . WCS can't be open because orherwise players like Maru,Inno,Stats and so on would take all the money and the best foreigners wouldn't have enough money to survive .

Code S used to mean something. With NoRegret getting in, Code S is definitely not as prestigious anymore. Korean scene is definitely in a bit of shambles.

Which must clearly be why the viewership numbers have been in the toilet since the Region lock started.

The wave of retirements among former quality players after IEM qualifiers could be super, super depressing.
