Hello! My name is Mizenhauer, TLive’s foremost koreaboo. Today I am privileged to introduce the hottest new idol group, Fourth. These four are the fortunate and deserved survivors of Eight, AfreecaTV’s premier elimination competition, and are set to make their debut on March 15th at 6:30 KST. They will be showcasing their talents over three appearances, so make sure to catch them all. They have the swagger, the looks and the moves to drive the fangirls wild, but can they steal your hearts as well? We’ll just have to find out! So here they are. Without further adieu I present Fourth.
Lead Dancer
At first glance Stats might not appear to be the most adept dancer, but there’s a reason he’s stolen the heart of Fourth’s official fan group, Third. Unfailingly consistent, Stats always puts on a solid performance. Whereas you can count on Jeongyeon to mess up on Weekly Idol, Stats is unflappable and never misses a beat. He has an edge to him, though, which he showed during Eight by eliminating INnoVation and locking his spot in Fourth. INnoVation broke out his signature move, the robot, but Stats told Inno, “Not today!” and countered with a provocative and forceful number that netizens called BTS-esque. Stats flew under the radar for a long time, but lately he’s really made himself known. There’s no denying his talents anymore and this reporter is convinced he will remain at the top for a very long time.
Rapper/Visual
They say soO performs better when he is angry. While he's too much of a pro to lose his top, the bottom line is he has attitude in spades. Although netizens have been aware of him for years, it was his rousing rendition of Tough Cookie that really brought him fame. Blessed with a sultry voice and stunning good looks, soO has everything he needs to conquer the charts. He finished second place in a number of GOM competitions during his trainee days, but his confidence remains sky-high. Famed Producer Dark Lord Spiral had this to say about everyone’s newest bias:
“There’s no doubt that he’s one of the best. I’m a big fan and the fangirls seem to love him even more. For now I’m avoiding the FreecUp studio, though, because they can really get crazy.”
Strong words from one of the most esteemed in the business! soO has been linked with Twice’s Dahyun and Sana, cementing his reputation as a playboy. So remember Spiral’s words and be careful, because the FreecUp studio is sure to get rowdy when soO takes the stage
Lead Vocals
sOs has already appeared on the biggest stages worldwide. Anaheim, Katowice, Seattle—he’s made them all his own. sOs was already a household name before joining Fourth and his presence gives the group real staying power. sOs’ performances can be harder to understand and analyze than Tzuyu’s English, but you just can’t look away. Like Bubble Pop Alum, HyunA, sOs likes it when things get weird. He showed that with a positively disharmonious performance that rendered crowd favorite herO grasping at straws. When sOs steps under the spotlight, he can't be mistaken for anyone else. Only he could produce such simultaneously melodic and chaotic notes. It will be his voice that speaks loudest in Fourth and I think we’re all thankful for that.
Back Up Vocals
There was no greater surprise during Eight than Ryung’s advancement. The least touted member of Fourth, it is Ryung’s job as hyung to keep his younger members in line. Ryung may seem more of a bit part player, but he learned a lot during his time in various groups and has all the tools to make a mark in Fourth. And don’t be mistaken, soO’s not the only member the ladies love. It’s rumored that Red Velvet’s Irene’s web drama was based on a tryst with Ryung (hence the video game theme). Ryung has just the right amount of Stats’ reliability, soO’s charisma and sOs’ flair, making him the perfect vehicle to make all the members shine. He may have upset a crowd favorite in Maru to get here, but his spot in Forth is well deserved. Don’t forget about Ryung when Fourth takes the stage, because he’ll be putting on the show of a lifetime.
So there you have it, the members of Fourth. They’re guaranteed to be a dynamo, so make sure to tune in for their inaugural performance at the FreecUp Studio. It’s been a pleasure to introduce them all to you today. And with that that, this is Mizenhauer, signing off for TLive.
