Regardless of the situation, we will still action upon "dead game" comments. As this is a sensitive issue for SC2 fans, please do not come into this thread and talk about SC2 players switching over to BW. This thread is also not about bashing Blizzard, David Kim, or the WCS system. |

It would be actually nice if people would listen to what koreans want.

I enjoyed proleague most out of all the tournaments. I loved that there was a strategy to the way players were fielded and what matches they prepared for. I always felt that the games had the most variety due to sniping builds and the extreme pressure of letting a team down as well as the use of the two different formats.
I'm just gutted really.
Expect a serious wave of retirements now and after Blizzcon I guess.
A sad day.

I'd assume so, the translation (according to google) is "This also" so contextually it makes sense that this bad news is the "also" to Proleague disappearing herO switching to Overwatch wouldn't surprise me at this point tbh.

Do you not watch BW because there is no Proleague anymore, though?
It *can* work. Not saying it will work 100%, but there is a chance.

What a time to be alive. As a bygone BW diehard, while there may be a little schadenfreude, there's also empathy. I felt devastated in the wake of BW's tribulations, so this must not feel much better. Sorry, SC2 fans. Hold on to what you have and hang in there.

You realize that many SC2 fans were/are BW fans? I care for both games and so do many people on here.
Fuck anyone that shit(s) on either BW or SC2 during these times. Both are great games with a great history, both games deserve a spot in the scene.

sad sad news. but as long as there's high level sc2 to watch, ill be there!

Not sure what will happen now

I also feel like minor balance tweaks (i.e. Queen range nerf, Siege Tank buffs) or a stream of new community maps would help balance out WoL.

No doubt SC2 was dying and Korean interest in SC2 practically dead, but clearly xenophobia had a factor in killing Proleague.

I'm Seriously speachless, been watching sc2 since the beta - Remember when TLO made 24h stream for doctors without borders? It was sunday, he logged into stream and there were over 2000 people watching - I Remember he was so surprised - "so many of you already"? he said... omg i miss this time but i think the game is very enjoyable to watch now.
I really hope sc2 will not go away, my true esport passion and watched every gsl excluding the first, whitch Fruitdealer won...

To all people bashing sc2 all over- and yet you are still here. You were watching tournaments, stream, followed players, teames, leagues and dramas for past 6 years. So it's not like sc2 was pointless compared to BW. SC2 troubles are not because it's bad game. BW had its own issues but lasted longer and they had more time to solve it. BW was popular in different esport enviroment than today'. And also it was only popular in Korea in its last years- was dead on foreign scene. As i said sc2 troubles are not because its bad game, because of Blizzard and other shit. It has troubles because RTS is fading genre of games. I've been there. Played my hands off in Unreal Tournament but fps arena died and all that was left was Counter Strike which i never could tolerate. All that we witness is a part of a cycle. One day ppl will want something more challenging that MOBA and RTS will come back. Concidering all that i just wrote- i don't think its the end of sc2. This all is not the end of days but the new beginning. Sc2 scene will change but not die.

In my opinion those matchfixing scandals are actually the nr 1 reason for Proleague's end. Big companies cannot assume the risk to be involved in those.
Forever shame on those players, they've killed my beloved KR SC2 scene.
