Do not talk about MarineKing even if you are defending him. Just don't do it. Please no match-fixing accusations on MarineKing or any other player if it has not officially been confirmed. This goes for other players too. -The_Templar

Also yeah the transfer to afreeca seems quite the coincidence, my pet theory is the coach's/team strongly suspected something was up and he asked for a transfer only for the house of Cards to fall around him. But who knows?! I hope he's innocent, until we find out more info tho from official sources our brain festers If KT knew and traded him with that knowledge there would be some serious legal implications for KT. To me that is evidence they didn't have that information, rather than the other way around. If for example they had been approached by authorities in the investigation then they would know, making the trade of questionable legality.

For whatever reason I would not be surprised if at least one of the two teams knew about this entire situation. Anyway, I'm still somewhat optimistic that everything is just a misunderstanding. Or that Life got pressured to throw the games. I just don't know for what other reason someone like Life, who's been at the top of the scene for years, should throw a game on purpose for some additional bucks. On the other side, kids are definitely more susceptible to threats or pressure. Which would also explain why someone like Life would be involved in something like that.

Waiting on / going through the Korean legal process, eventually into fines and maybe even a little jail sentence, ultimately culminating in social stigma and difficulty in obtaining future employment. What other news could you be expecting? As much as we'd like to pretend how match-fixing is such a huge deal that is responsible for the downfall of our beloved game, it really isn't, especially for lower level players and teams such a B4 and Prime. We "forgot" about the Prime scandal faster than how we "forgot" that in Chicago, police had been secretly kidnapping people and placing them into illegal detention centers, and much faster than how children in Africa today are still starving. We bandwagon because the thread is always at the top of the SC2 general section, but honestly, who gives a fuck. Just how many spectators are such hardcore fans that to them, Life = SC2? Most of us will go on watching and playing.

Yeah, I've never been worried about the foreign scene shifting away because of matchfixing. My worries are more about the Korean scene based on how much the SavioR incident has been blamed for the death of BW. Even there I guess the main problem was sponsors walking away.

That's the main issue for the scene is the money leaving, sponsors don't want to be seen to be affiliated with match fixing and gambling rings. It's unfortunate but fans will still be fans and still play.

Have you seen the way Life laughs? It gives a lot away about the persons moral integrity. That being said there is another top terran player I suspect involved in this and another top zerg. The whole thing is not over yet, until someone spills the beans on it all. Well at this stage, anything can happen and none of it was to ever make sense. Rationality cannot predict things. The korean chaebols have way too much power.

I love conspiracy; it helps me to distinguish fools from orrdinary people. Seriously, I believe you are smart enough not to believe that.

Online, offline, whatever. And he'll most likely have trouble finding employment in his post-SC2 career. There is a legitimate possibility that he has completely fucked up his life, from what I understand of Korean society. This is a lose-lose situation for SC2 fans, no matter how you look at it. Lets say its up to us to decide his punishment. Well, either we send the message that match fixing is A-OK, not that big a deal at all, especially if youre a champ (which is backwards; if anyone should be excused its the dirt poor B teamers)... or we fuck over one of the greatest players of all time, who in all likelihood did 99.999% good for the scene and only 0.001% bad. Very sad situation.

Most of us will go on watching and playing. The problem is that B4/Yoda were on the bottom of the food.chain so you would expect few and not very important players to be arrested in the future. Whereas Life is the tip of the iceberg and on top of the food chain, there are probably a lot of other fixers. Edit: and korean sc2 is sc2, without it the game is pointless to watch and play because the best players would not be there.
