To be honest people are asking why, it isn't surprising that these things happen. Think logically, if you are a pro-gamer and you know eventually you have to go to the military, you know that eventually your skills will wane and eventually you will stop making money and have to go get a normal job/go to school...knowing all this someone offers you an obscene amount of money (it would have to be for a guy like Life) that would fix you up REAL good before eventually retiring, would you consider it? Okay I would like to say I would give them the middle finger, but lots of 0's on a figure can be super tempting...
Well so is stealing money from old people and scaming with Nigeria-mails aswell. Does not justify it at all.
Stop making up excuses like this, it is so bullshit. If Life have done what he is accused for he deserves to be put in jail.
In no way did I justify his actions or make excuses. I stated why he would consider doing it. If he did it he can rot in jail just like people that steal from old people. I am not excusing his actions I am explaining why he might consider it.
Well he needs air to breath and food to eat aswell. "He might had needed money so he match fixed" - isnt really a Sherlock-observation. But thanks for sharing.
You may not think it is that special and neither do I, but apparently some people don't understand how someone at the top could do this, if this wasn't the case then people wouldn't be stating all over the internet, 'why would life who is so amazing do this'. At no point did I state it was an amazing revelation or a 'Sherlock-observation'...In fact I stated that it isn't surprising, which would suggest that it is an obvious thing to understand. But thanks for your nice comments.

You're reacting very aggressively here. He's trying to explain why he did it, because at first sight it might be hard to understand why the greatest player to ever play the game and second in earning would matchfix. But I guess the very thought that we might do something else than blame someone who commited a crime is an awful offense to you.
If Maru or Inno are found to be match fixing then that will kill the game for me. But I think I can survive this, hopefully the scene survives (recovers from?) it too.

Especially because on Korean version of the vod, casters said that something like this cannot happen, and Life smiled when he saw Solar's zerglings that he couldn't defend, and at 3:00, Life had a weird face for a moment when the overlord turns after him seeing the creep.
wow... just wow... at least I see, why people speculate about this game...

According to Catz and Hydra there were a lot of rumors beforehand that Life was matchfixing. That doesn't sound like someone wanted to be clever and destroy Life but more like progamers have made the observations themselves that Life may be fixing because of some games or his spending habits or something like that.
People always say "I knew it" anecdotes when something pops up. Take that with a grain of salt.

He is just guessing. I think everybody can come up with an idea why Life might have done it. Aliens might be threatening him. Perhaps he knows it will wake the dinosaurs to life. Stating he "might have dont it for the money" or "they might have threatned his daughter" or whatever.
People saying "I dont understand how this could happend" do not littelarly mean "I cant come up with any reason what so ever why this would happend"... Neither are they asking for someone to guess why on earth it has happend.
So does anyone else think that KT - a massive corporation, formerly government-owned - might have been tipped off about the investigation, thus the trade? And perhaps Life's arrest was even held off until it was done? Given how close the big Korean companies are to the government...
well, honestly something like this was bound to happen.
IF there are "investors" around trying to make money through matchfixing they either go to the players/teams who struggle to make a living (i.e. Prime - low risk, low reward) or they go to players/teams where a lot of people bet and therefore the stakes are higher (high risk, high reward).
I assume there are a lot more players/teams involved into matchfixing, corruption, bribery and hush-money than we know, some are just better at covering their tracks I guess.
I applaud players who immediately report people that approach them with a moneybag in one hand and promises in the other. I think there was a thread on TL a while back about a player that refused to get into matchfixing. Sadly that didnt even get half the attention than actual scandals that are happening lately.
anyway, cheers to everyone who also selected Life for their anti team in FPL.

Yeah keep telling that yourself. One of the richest player may have matchfixed and you somehow achieved to turn it into a "they are so poor they have no choice" arguement? What the hell, doesn´t matter if korean or foreigner, such behaviour is a disgrace and terrible for this game. Also many foreigners aren´t making a fortune either with starcraft.
