Do not talk about MarineKing even if you are defending him. Just don't do it. Please no match-fixing accusations on MarineKing or any other player if it has not officially been confirmed. This goes for other players too. -The_Templar

Even if he's proven innocent, this is really depressing right now ![]()

Still hoping though - nothing is proven so far... But if he really has done it in his time on Startale when they didn't have a sponsor it would be kind of a consolation. Also I really hope, that (if he's guilty) he will make a statement like "I'm really sorry and I don't ask for forgiveness but to continue supporting SC2 because it's my fault and not their."

Crazy thing to happen, he's still so young, and I thought he had such an innocent personality...

To be honest people are asking why, it isn't surprising that these things happen. Think logically, if you are a pro-gamer and you know eventually you have to go to the military, you know that eventually your skills will wane and eventually you will stop making money and have to go get a normal job/go to school...knowing all this someone offers you an obscene amount of money (it would have to be for a guy like Life) that would fix you up REAL good before eventually retiring, would you consider it? Okay I would like to say I would give them the middle finger, but lots of 0's on a figure can be super tempting...

Protoss already does enough gambling by simply playing the game, yo. Crazy thing to happen, he's still so young, and I thought he had such an innocent personality... Probably the same way scandals like this are usually uncovered. Starts with an anonymous tip, and then they start digging into financial records. Investigating games and such is pretty worthless, since it's so hard to tell in a given match, but if you can prove money changed hands then that's your case right there.

But I don't get why it's illegal in Korea. Even though I dislike life the player and always rooted against him, it seems way too harsh to have him thrown in jail for losing at video games. Sure it ruins the integrity of the game, but at the end of the day it's just games played for entertainment. Why jail a kid for it

Also this announcement that the cause of his arrest was in fact match-fixing isn't particularly surprising.

You were supposed to destroy the match fixers, not join them! You were meant to bring balance to Starcraft, not leave it in darkness!
