I didn't say that. What I'm saying is that a massive, well known concert hall in central Paris saying "O'gaming presents: NationWars 3" in giant red letters will make people take notice that this exists.

It all depends on your target audience. Football at 50 € might be quite common, but football is highly stablished in society and the potential public is huge. You can get families, people with their kids, the grandpa who is a fan of X team or so, groups of young people that might just randomly plan to attend a match, because football/basketball/rugby is something that they have experienced as a very normal distraction.

A NationWars SC2 event mostly targets people aged 15-30 that are already fans of the saga. I doubt that some group of friends on their 30s/40s randomly decide to go to see an e-sports event just because it costs as much as football, for example. Well 55 (which btw is the lowest price as far as I understand) is quite high compared to other sport-events. You can go to the Stade de France (in Paris) to watch a 6Nations rugby game for 10-15 euros if you buy the tickets well in advance. You won't have the best places, but it's still nice to have the choice (honestly I don't think one goes to the stadium for the "quality" of the view, one goes for the atmosphere, be with friends, etc. )

That is one of the things that make me think of why sometimes this kind of events push a lot of potential public away, directed only at wealthy hardcore fans and staff. I guess that this is not the type of future SC wants..

55€ is pretty standard for such a venue, however, we're talking about a full day of starcraft/csgo here, making it a cheaper entertainment than cinema when considering the hourly rate

55-220€ price include more stuff like access to the after party and such

stadiums are cheap, they're basically just mass gathering circled by a fence
compare the price to similar venue capable of hosting people with the same level of comfort

55€ is definitely not that high given the venue and the duration of the show (it won't be a 2 hours game on a plastic chair in a cold stadium)
Problem is : it's during a week day, I guess this will prevent a lot of fans with a job to show up. That will be my case at least ...

As I told, very expensive. They already cancelled the show and the case was they didn't sell much tickets.

Not exactly. They sold few tickets because of the events back in November. The mentality there is not to gather in large crowds--at least for the time being.
