YoDa, B4, Gerrard arrested for match-fixing - Page 35

Based on the official Police investigation, only the above players have been implicated in matchfixing. There is no reason to further accuse other players and teams until we get more information. Incessant blind accusations will not be tolerated. Please read the thread and the updates before posting.

As of page 54 we will be moderating against match fixing accusations for players who were not caught in this incident, including those using voided Pinnacle bets as evidence.

Guys its the same old story once again. These guys don't make a whole lot of money to begin with and a lot of them are just kids. They don't understand the ramifications even though its happen so many times now we've lost count.

I assume you take the "bad play" matches that are especially suspicious and investigate the players. Then if you find any information you trade more lenient sentences for more information and keep going until you can't go anymore

Because the Korean police are investigating. They could have found bookie contacts, bookie documents, etc. Which is exactly why forum goers have no right making accusations. if KeSPA and the police are holding back for more information, I wonder how someone on the internet can feel they have more authority to declare guilt.

isnt 1000 = 1000만 so its roughly 10k not 100k?

You are correct. I've been quickly translating things without much room for though so I made a mistake.

lol no worries, it happens im sure there are ppl in the thread who will correct you if there is mistranslation

The evidence comes from the other end--from the broker side of things I think. And it's the justice system that's investigating, not KeSPA.

So the only players confirmed involved were Gerrard and Yoda? That's something at least, hopefully it wasn't systemic at all then.

One of those updates says it was only 3 bettors who were arrested, I wonder if there were more they didn't get to, or if it was just those 3 throwing down the thousands and thousands that would be necessary to swing the betting lines as much as we ended up seeing in the canceled pinnacle bets.

Is it a surprise? It was just a matter of time.
Only YoDa and Gerrard though? Eh, I guess they took for the rest.

YoDa is a former IEM champion. Probably him, but does not preclude another former champion being implicated

In regards to the news articles stating that "a former champion was arrested," they were talking about YoDa (who won an IEM). Looks like FOR NOW, everyone else is safe.

well, there were several suspicious matches and we've had Rekrul already mention that matchfixing is rampant and everyone knows about it a while back so this isn't surprising. I mean, the OP even say something like $10,000 for fixing a single match. It's easy to see why Yoda might've gotten lured into fixing some matches, not that I agree with the reasoning.

I think it's good to see that anyone caught matchfixing is charged and arrested etc... hopefully puts a damper and pause for anyone else entertaining the idea or fixing themselves. Wonder if we'll get more info about the other people involved and such.

Funny thing is, MK was already investigated once(after he had played against byul) and turned out to be innocent.

c`mon hes only very, very bad at playing SC.

Marineking is done for. I really doubt he'll be able to shake the rumours no matter what the court judges.

So shameful. I defended a lot of these people when these accusations started happening. Boy do I feel like a fool.
