I decided to pick ByuL already somewhere in the middle of R2 seeing how he's doing better and better. RagnaroK is doing quite well recently even though he lost some matches, so I believe it can be a good round for him. At worst, he will just bring points for Entus wins. Then Pet just because I like him for some reason. And of course SBENU hype train, so him and Ian should be save picks. Taeja got there because when I was done with the team, I realized I can't have herO and only Zergs. Welp. Nothing too flashy (not intentional I swear) in Anti Team this time, just a balanced composition. Last round I got rekt pretty hard by my super Anti Team with Flash and sOs suddenly starting to win a lot. | ||

Byul is way too cheap, so is Myunsik based off recent runs in Korean tournaments. I have a hunch that Bbyong is undervalued, but let's test that. Classic has a super easy opponent in Center. BBongBBong (the player who's user ID upsets me the most) is super underrated at 1. Yes, he's bad, but he has actually done okay in Korea vs T, wheras Bomber has barely any games played. That could be an advantage though, excited to see. Panic is overhyped, but will trade if he has a good matchup. Hope I don't get destroyed by Solar :-p. Pet will never play on the new team since there are so many stars now. Good luck FPLing everyone :-D | ||

i mean unless you are hoping for someone like solar in round 1 where you actually get points from your anti, you should always aim for players that will be on losing teams+aren't getting fielded. then trade them away if they are being fielded and might actually upset. | ||

Probably Myungsik. DRG is a bit of a wild card that we haven't seen too much of lately, but couldn't qualify for any Korean league. Leenock and MMA are great, but not on the Sbenu team and already not fielded in the first week. San has even aced for the team last season. Curious is the Captain. Bomber was in a bit of a slump lately and got hardly any play time last season. aLive, Pet, Hack, Daisy have all gotten playtime last season. no clue how good jjakji is these days, but I don't think he won't be fielded at all. Sorry is definitely underestimated. But, Yongwha (although he is slumping) could make a huge comeback this round. He killed it round 1, and now the only thing he has to focus on is Proleague - as he is out of the 2 major Korean individual leagues. I thought about picking Sorry too, but after thinking about it more I think he only has 30/70 odds (maybe 40/60 at best) in this match. I did pick Bbongbbong though haha.... | ||

Super is most likely gonna be behind 5 players (Zest, Life, Stats, Flash, TY) and Terminator literally played 0 games last round, Jin Air coach even fielded Symbol and Pigbaby ahead of him. Granted they both are on good teams, but for $3 you want players that play instead of trying to get free points from team wins. I would take a risk with DRG (newly back in PL) and Bomber (played 0 games last round as well) as they both are fielded at least and in very winnable games. P.S. From his GSL interview Bomber said he recently moved to the SBENU teamhouse, I'll take it as a sign he's gonna play more. Since Prime's roster is really small and Ragnarok will pick up points by himself through CJ, I chose Rag. This was I can pick B4 vs Bomber and just gamble a little for a playing 1 pointer. Wrecking Byul, Stats, Dear all 3 potential Aces Sorry because he's turning out to be a slow monster and he's cheap again (just like Dark was very cheap 2 seasons in a row). SBENU becuase STYLE START SBENU. Everytime I hope my FPL to be doing good. This time I will just accept the fact that every player will just go into a slump again, because FPL hates my life | ||

Basically, there are a few too many uphill matchups in the first week for my taste, so I'll just have to rely on some good trade value going forwards... (also made a few changes after looking through this thread!) Main: Bbyong I consider undervalued even though he only went 2-1 last round, as he had 6 lineup appearances - amazingly, he never got to play a full half of his games as CJ smashed the opposition too quickly (or, got smashed by Jin Air). In the first round, when he actually got to play, he did really well (5-4, 2-0 in aces). I'm not expecting him to ace all that often b/c CJ have herO and ByuL but he should almost always get fielded in the regular lineup Bomber was very impressive in GSL, and I'm hoping that being fielded this week is a sign that he is returning to the regular roster (especially impressive considering the team's recent expansion) Also, he has a very favorable opening match (DRG/Creator is harder to call as even though Creator sucks vZ, he's still a far better player overall than B4, and DRG is not as good lately as Bomber). Lastly, I have an outside hope that the team will send Bomber for an ace match or two, as they haven't had a solid ace player since Life left Dark was simply the 7 pointer I was most comfortable picking. I like to spread players among teams and I already had 2 CJ players so no ByuL, soO is not fielded for some reason, I'm not sold on Stats yet, and Zest has a nasty habit of mucking up ace matches. Dark also looked pretty good in Kespa Cup, and hopefully he gets some ace matches (he did all the ace matches for SKT in round 1 even though Innovation was on fire back then) Yonghwa - originally had Flash here but I needed to drop a point. Yonghwa seems to be pretty decent value, and he was especially good in round 1 (beat Zest and herO). Last round he had a string of losses, but they were to top players (Dear, Stats, Classic). In the end, I decided that although Flash is probably better, I'd rather even out the team Myungsik - originally had HerO here but I think Myungsik is a sizable step up. He was overall mediocre in PL for Prime but kinda stepped up by the end of r2 and came out of nowhere to beat a bunch of good players in Kespa Cup qualifiers and GSL Ragnarok - done decently recently (lost to strong Koreans, beat some middling Koreans), his match looks pretty even but the tipping point are those sweet CJ teampoints SBENU - picking teams was very hard. I tried to game the schedule but it didn't work so I just went for value, kinda hoping SBENU can pull upsets with sponsor and player acquisition momentum. With 2 SBENU players in the main roster as well, I'm definitely leaning heavily on them to do well this round... Detailed schedule analysis in spoiler. + Show Spoiler + I initially looked at the teams in terms of favorable trading patterns (ie. which teams had favorable matches in the first half vs which had favorable matches in the back half) but the schedule is balanced absolutely perfectly. The top half teams (Telecoms, Jin Air, CJ) each face 2 bottom half teams in the first 3 weeks then the other 2 in the last 3 weeks, while the bottom half teams face 1 fellow bottom half team in the first 3, 1 in the last 3, and the remaining one at the midpoint, week 4. So picking teams with the aim of trading once halfway through was impossible. The best you could probably do would be CJ -> SKT at week 6, which give your teams 5 matches against a bottom half team. As that's only one more than if you kept a top half team the whole round, and discounts the possibility that SKT surges and passes CJ in trade value thus making the trade impossible, at that point I don't think it's worth the effort. (As a comparison, in the last round trading SGK -> KT at round 4 gave a full 6 matches against a bottom half team) Anti: I don't like picking players that are fielded for anti, but as for Bravo he's never played vP in PL (his good record is from vT), and he's vs herO of all people so I'm pretty confident (Aligulac gives an 80% for herO to win this, lol) Panic had a nice 3-0 last round but he was only fielded those 3 times (and only beat 1 actually good player, Flash, whose vP sucks - other victims were Terror and Billowy, not exactly the cream of the crop) and he's not fielded today so I don't think the coaches are confident in him Bunny almost never gets played, I have no idea why he costs this much. CJ teampoints will certainly hurt, but he's a pretty safe anti | ||

You basically agree to have one player on your team that won't earn you many points. I always go all in on my captain, like this time its Dear, last time it was herO the one before that it was Life. I pick the player that is both worth the cost and the player I cant fathom slumping too hard. This way even if I have some cheap players (like this round Bomber and DRG) if they take a win or two I can later trade them up and in the end I'll have a whole team of players that all play every week. I mean, KR Terrans and Protosses seem to enjoy throwing games vs Zergs so maybe it'll be fine, but I think they're going to struggle more as people realise all you have to do is play a safe macro game and then you win. | ||

Seems to be turning into a coach. - TY is probably a bad choice despite still being a good player. KT is ridiculously stubborn with their Zest/Flash/Life/Stats combo. TY is barely seen anymore since Life joined. - SKT should continue to win a lot as they're a top 4 team. Wouldn't put them ahead of Jin Air or CJ atm though. Anti: + Show Spoiler + - Big mistake putting Rougue on anti. He plays very often and has just come off a killer round as the arguably the best Zerg. Try to get him off ASAP. - Ian will never play. - Sorry has huge lineup competition on SKT. He probably won't play or win that much, but he's been on the rise for awhile. ByuL is probably not worth trading for Zest or Life. ByuL vs Dream is 50/50 and Zest is favored against Creator but not substantially (he did lose twice to him in round 1) while Life may not even play since KT got good matches against Prime and could easily win 3-0. Down the road ByuL will play just as much as Life/Zest and is just as good in terms of skill. The real tipping point is that ByuL is on CJ which is more likely to win than KT based off the past two rounds. | ||

It seems the correct way to play the anti is to pray they play and lose though, only 1 guy on my anti won a map all round but all the -1s and trade tax really adds up. | ||

The biggest thing I had going for me was my anti: Panic, YoDa --> Jim, Hush --> Bunny. They got me a total of -6 over the season. Trading Bomber for Stats in the second week netted me +14 and GuMiho for Zest in week 4 got me +11. Those two were my big trades, the Rest hovered around 0 in efficiency.Flash and ByuL were with me the whole round, giving +39 points together. I'M satisfied that I had Faith in God's usual end-of-proleague-approaching-form-curve. For next round I'm considering trading less, even though this round I traded aggressively (9 trades in total) ending up +25. Most of them did more or less nothing (+2, 0, 0, +1, -2, -3, +2) | ||
