It was announced today that Zerg player Jeon "TerrOr" Ji Won, from team Prime has retired.
TerrOr had joined Prime at the start of 2013, right after BBoongBBoong left . A pretty big hole to fill considering B4 was Prime's ace Zerg for a while. Unfortunately, he has never lived up to that reputation.
TerrOr's first televised win was against GuMiho, in 2013 GSTL Season 1. Recently he was always very close to qualifying for Korean leagues, but always came just too short.

Well it's not that Prime got rid of him, it's that he ended his career as a pro gamer.
We'll see how long it takes for Prime to pick up a new player or two.
Really sad he couldn't get over his stress issues. Seeing how PRIME removes player very quickly when they dont perform, i always believed he would break through since he was staying in the roster. He was the only one staying in the team house to practice when everyone was going home for the few holidays that the players have, he was trying hard and playing well on ladder...sadly he'll be remembered for his poor results
Prime only has BBongBBong as a zerg now, they really need to get some zergs otherwise practicing XvZ is going to be even more tough

Maybe they will pick up DRG. Would be quite the irony, MVP and Prime exchanging MarineKing and DRG.

Not too surprised given his lack of results.
Fucking seriously?
Well, he's at an all-time 35.32% winrate (34.62% offline, 35.63% online) against Koreans, so yeah...
It's his fucking retirement thread...........................
? He isn't dead or anything, and his results are probably partially correlated to his decision to retire, thus relevant. Retirement from pro-gaming is probably a great opportunity for him to start a new life and not a funeral event that should censor this kind of things. And come on, we've seen retirement threads with way worse and disrecpectful comments than this.

Come on, saying it's not too surprising is not disrespectful in this case. It doesn't change that it's a sad thing (if you cared about that player).
Just like when you hear that Mvp might be considering retirement, after not seeing a game from him in 8 months, and knowing his health problems, it's not "too surprising", even though it's heartbreaking news...
Well, at least, this is not a consensus that it's disrespectful.

Doesn't answer the other part of my post, which stands ; and it wasn't intended at "pushing people even further down the hole" but at analyzing his decision. But well if you feel offended over simple facts, I apologize for hurting your sensibility and for being tasteless and stupid.

A retirement OP is not the fucking place for that

Disagreeing still doesn't warrant calling him tasteless and stupid. I especially wouldn't call Lorning that...
I'm not calling him tasteless and stupid at all? d:

Look, I agree with Ragnarok that saying that doesn't warrant calling you tasteless and stupid..... But still, even if it's true, I really don't think you should have said what you said (not being surprised)
At least say it in a different way, for example, "It's a pity he didn't deliver like most expected him to, so I guess this decision might not be too surprising and actually quite beneficial for Terror". Same meaning, whole different way that other readers will view it

Dude I didnt say that, it was the original OP
Are you that fucking dumb?
Well I'm sorry for not being on time to read the original OP, when I came to this thread, apparently it was already changed...... I'm giving quite a few apologies tonight...... LOL, chill bro, I'm not blaming you, unlike others
When a player retires you point out both achievements and let downs. Terror had more of the latter, no one can argue otherwise. He made it to a point in his career few can only dream of, he won a televised game and that is something to be proud of. But there is nothing wrong with pointing out he did not meet peoples expectations. Looking back on a players career at their retirement is not just "oh we wish him so much luck its a shame he's gone". Its everything. Get off the high horse and be happy people care enough to post about a player.

When Mvp officially retires, I want to see "Mvp will be remembered as a 4 time GSL winner" rather than "Mvp failed to win the G5L trophy".
There's nothing wrong with pointing out that TerrOr never managed to reach his full potential, but having something equaling "It's not surprising he retired because his results were bad." in the OP is cold.

When MVP retires, if he fails to actually make a comeback in LOTV, it will read 4 time GSL winner who was on top of the world, moved to Europe, took one tournament and then faded into obscurity.
When athletes in any sport retire. especially those who under-perform that is the first thing that is mentioned.

I hope he comes back, when he's a bit older and has his nerves in check. Would be sick to see him rise, not to the top, but make a decent name for himself. Potential will always remain, it's just how motivates and willing you are to act on the potential AND overcome mental obstacles.
Also, cool to see Prime win 1 match in Proleague this round. The best Prime has vs. the best ST has
I feel so sorry for him for everytime Wolf shat on him because he was doing really bad in Proleague. Hope Brendan and Moonglade don't take Wolf's behavior as an example.
Well he sure gave up quick. But from watching him play that's understandable. People always pull the "he has potential" card but I never got to see it.
Can't say I'm surprised. I've only ever seen him win once in a televised match. I'll miss him despite him never winning though. He always managed to make losing entertaining.
Nothing to say except I hope he has an awesome life and E-Sports remains a fond memory that he can keep life long friends and connections in. I wonder if he'll move into coaching in his free time while working another job or move into another game.

I think that would be fair, except Mvp didn't retire because of his skill level - he retired because he literally couldn't play the game anymore.
I think it'd be more fair to have it read "Four time GSL winner, the undisputed greatest of Wings of Liberty, one of the founders of the game, moved to Europe and took a championship even a couple years past him prime."
