i love the idea of free coaching from one of the best american sc2 players, but why cant people be honest like me and say that they cringed at how hard he tried to be funny in this video. or am i the only one without the sense of humor of an 8 year old

I don't know, it's funny because he is overdoing it, and I am pretty sure he is well aware that he is overdoing it? Poking fun of the US (and EG?) style of advertising. It's true that the production quality is far from professional, but that only increase the effect for me. :D To each his own I guess.
Btw, not sure if that is what you tries to do, but trying to argue that your taste of what is funny is better or more correct than others probably won't take you to good places. Sorry if I understood you wrong.
