Terminator, Dream, Dark, Super.. or even MarineKing, GuMiho (if you haven't been following the scene THAT closely) or Dear (who's been considered another Seed/Sniper for the better part of this year). If you had to predict which players are gonna make it through both qualifiers, you probably wouldn't have picked them over Zest, soO, Classic, sOs, or even Flash, Bomber and Rain. I'm really looking forward to the upcoming season.

Other well-known players who failed to qualify for BOTH individual leagues include but are not limited to: jjakji, HerO, Stork, Trap, HyuN, DongRaeGu, TRUE, and Symbol. There is a (surprisingly high, at least to me) total of TWENTY players who successfully qualified for BOTH individual leagues, a list that includes 7 protosses, 8 terrans, and 5 zergs and is as follows: Dear, herO, PartinG, San, Super, Terminator, YongHwa Dream, FanTaSy, GuMiho, INnoVation, MarineKing, Maru, TaeJa, TY Dark, Life, Rogue, Solar, Soulkey As it stands currently, the team demographics of the 64 slots that make up the two individual leagues is like this: 8 SKT, 7 JinAir, 5 CJ, 5 MVP, 5 YoeFW, 4 Invasion eSport, 4 KT, 4 Samsung, 4 StarTale, 3 Dead Pixels, 2 Acer, 2 Liquid, 2 Prime, 2 TCM, 1 Axiom, 1 Dignitas, 1 iG, 1 mYi, 1 RedBull, and finally 2 'teamless'

His inability to qualify for GSL nor Spotv SC2 Leauge means that he will only be able to compete in Proleague and foreign events for the start of the year. 2014's perennial runner-up soO also misses out on both tournaments, ensuring that his streak of second place finishes in GSL ends at 4. Other important drop outs include Flash, sKyHigh, DongRaeGu, Classic, sOs, Bbyong and Stats. Another surprising result of the qualifiers was the high success rate of former WCS AM and WCS EU participants. TaeJa, Seed and Bomber both reached Code S after leaving for America, while First, MC, San, MMA, YoDa, and Heart dominated most of their brackets in order to make it back to Code S. Many observers predicted them to have a difficult time upon their return to their homeland, but "Koreigners" as they have been derisively called will make up 1/4 of Code S this season. The inaugural season of 2015 will feel almost like a retro-Code S due to the names that were able to qualify, and it will be interesting to see whether the big performers of 2014 that were knocked out in Code B will be able to retake their spots as the year progresses. Full results on Liquipedia: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2015_Global_StarCraft_II_League_Season_1/Qualifier So Zest, soO, DRG, Flash, sos, classic, bbyong and stats out? And Yoda, MMA, San, MC, Heart, Seed, Bomber Taeja, First in? Wat... next up, Mvp wins the whole thing two seasons straight against marineking? More proof that KeSPA players are overrated. More like a qualifier is unforgivable, subject to bracket luck and hardly indicates that some players are clearly above others in term of skill Yep but when you look at who Zest and Flash lost to, it's kinda disapointing... They are probably going through a slight slump. The fact that SSL and GSL qualifiers were held a few days apart didn't help, tbh. More like a qualifier is unforgivable, subject to bracket luck and hardly indicates that some players are clearly above others in term of skill Let's see you say that once the season actually begins. This isn't broodwar where the KeSPA guys were basically untouchable. Anything can happen in SC2. Well yeah I'm not saying that this is Broodwar. But I seriously doubt people like Zest and soO are "overrated" because they lost two qualifiers held a few days apart, and are suddenly worse players than, say, Terminator or Panic. And Zest, soO, Flash, Bbyong and Stats were eliminated by KeSPA players. Yeah, maybe I put it wrong. I guess the Koreans in NA/EU are underrated then? I mean TaeJa is a great proof of that, dude is a beast. soO is still the nr.1 zerg for me, of course. Life close 2nd. Hmm yes the Koreigners were definitely underrated. Tbh I'm really surprised MC made it, and jjakji almost made it too.

No idea how well the ones who aren't in Proleague will fare during the preparation based later rounds of GSL and SSL though.

The two qualifiers were very close to each other in time, so players with a good momentum qualified for both, while players with less momentum failed.
