what?? Zest, soO, Flash and sOs failed to advance?

feels like we're back in 2012 with MarineKing, YongHwa, Seed, Curious

I'm also so many former WCS EU players made it too like First, MMA, YoDa, MC, San, I thought all the WCS KR guys would eat them alive.

Yes, they do. Also, SKT obviously signed PenguiN immediately after he qualified so they can be the only team with four players. Love the diversity in teams and races, and the fact we have many of the old guard and the new!

However, there were also many notable casualties, including one of the most lauded players of 2014: KT's Zest. His inability to qualify for GSL nor Spotv SC2 Leauge means that he will only be able to compete in Proleague and foreign events for the start of the year. 2014's perennial runner-up soO also misses out on both tournaments, ensuring that his streak of second place finishes in GSL ends at 4. Other important drop outs include Flash, sKyHigh, DongRaeGu, Classic, sOs, Bbyong and Stats.

Another surprising result of the qualifiers was the high success rate of former WCS AM and WCS EU participants. TaeJa, Seed and Bomber both reached Code S after leaving for America, while First, MC, San, MMA, YoDa, and Heart dominated most of their brackets in order to make it back to Code S. Many observers predicted them to have a difficult time upon their return to their homeland, but "Koreigners" as they have been derisively called will make up 1/4 of Code S this season.

The inaugural season of 2015 will feel almost like a retro-Code S due to the names that were able to qualify, and it will be interesting to see whether the big performers of 2014 that were knocked out in Code B will be able to retake their spots as the year progresses.

So Zest, soO, DRG, Flash, sos, classic, bbyong and stats out? And Yoda, MMA, San, MC, Heart, Seed, Bomber Taeja, First in?

Wat... next up, Mvp wins the whole thing two seasons straight against marineking?

More proof that KeSPA players are overrated.

More like a qualifier is unforgivable, subject to bracket luck and hardly indicates that some players are clearly above others in term of skill

I want to watch that Maru or TY win this season.
And zerg is very bleak this season.
Zerg players did not qualify much in the two leagues. I think that this season and latest season maps are very hard as zerg player.

Both SSL and GSL without Zest or soO . Still a great lineup though, going to be an exciting season!

It's just speculation at this point, but the only thing that makes sense. He can't just skip both GSL and SSL S1 without another plan. Sadly .

We could make a news about it I guess, but since it's not official I thought we'd just wait. No need to spread rumors.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

They are probably going through a slight slump. The fact that SSL and GSL qualifiers were held a few days apart didn't help, tbh.

Well yeah I'm not saying that this is Broodwar. Yeah, maybe I put it wrong. I guess the Koreans in NA/EU are underrated then? I mean TaeJa is a great proof of that, dude is a beast. soO is still the nr.1 zerg for me, of course. Life close 2nd.

I think the takeaway from the surprising results of the SSL/GSL qualifiers is a good one: Korea still has a strong and highly competitive SC2 scene that has no certainties.

Except PartinG. PartinG is now in Code S for 3 years straight no matter what format or name changes, no matter if he has to requalify or not.
