We were down to 2 wheeled units in WoL. Hellions said fuck it and started walking in HotS. Maybe this is the siege tank's turn in LotV? This sounds like a walking siege tank.
Speaking about 2 wheel units, I'd love a machine gun bicycle.

Not as long as people are able to take 3 bases in under 10 minutes. It's more of an economy (particularly expectation of economy) problem amongst the player base.

Yeah =\ Not much is going to change in SC2 if all LotV does is add some units. SC2 needs something big and literally gamechanging.

Isn't that a map thing? No one was doing that in any matchup in 2010 or most of 2011.

Part map, part game design. Blizzard went a bit overboard with buffing early game defense for different races, alongside maps increasing their rush distances. Basically why you almost never see 1-base timings anymore. Since everyone goes FE, you get into mid-game a lot faster. Getting bigger army sizes faster = higher difficulty to exploit an opponent's weaknesses. If there's no real incentive to hit a timing, everything devolves into an economic arms race. Thus, we get triple CC builds, fast triple hatch, etc. as standard builds instead of them being considered extremely greedy.
Changes/additions like the queen range buff and photon overcharge are the biggest offenders. Blizzard would have been better off giving Z and P early game offensive power to better balance the offensive pressure of their opponents instead of buffing defense. I realize that sounds weird in light of PvP 4gate shenanigans, but that's a different (albeit related) problem revolving around complete circumvention of rush distances -- plus there's better ways to address it than a one-click cannon activation that affects all match ups.
