I remember in an episode in NASL, they mentioned that she's had a poetry book published, been an actress, and was at one point one of the best gymnast in the her region, which shows at least good discipline and more accomplishment than I can ever claim.
The reason people dismissed her at the beginning was because she was hired in as the token female host who had absolutely no starcraft knowledge. But as NASL progressed, she started involving herself in the scene, streaming, and showed genuine interest and enthusiasm, not to mention she did tons of interviews and reportings.
it'll be good to have her back! she's a good host, but will probably need to work alongside someone with deeper knowledge of the game to appeal to the hardcore gamer.
This sums it up right here.

Yes... I actually liked her quirky personality :D she's actually fun to watch

Happy to see her back. She was one of the most entertaining hosts.

I read all the initial sexist shit at the start of the thread but when reading through the pages it really shows that there are tons more people saying they really liked her and are glad to have her back. For the SC2 community to be so positive over a female host really tells me she must have been doing a really great job!
Looking forward to seeing her and the energy she brings that makes so many people appreciate her work. Good luck Lauren!
Go read the reddit thread Anyway, shes so positive that you cant hate her.

Quite funny to see how they greatly hype the return or Lauren to Starcraft like she's gonna save it or something. Didn't watch much NASL (well, only watched the matches and not the fuss in between as I didn't like it) but was she, like, that much popular?

Ooh Lauren Elise. She helped create one of the most amusing SC2 tournaments to date and she makes a great medic! <3

Sure, Lauren Elise applies her looks, but she at least illustrates enthusiasm and willingness to be a part of the SC2 community, even though the community has reduced to a niche one.
I really hope that she succeeds, because I really can sense her positive attitude and desire to do some meaningful contributions!
Why is that other girl selling her body? o-o
She a SC2 host too?
Im soo bad with names, sorry >.<

Actually, she was pretty likeable on "The Pulse" back in the NASL days. A bit goofy sometimes, but still far from being the stereotypic blonde chick with boobs.

You run the risk of appearing less serious and a little juvenile if you rely on having a hot chick on stage as par for the course.
Also, I have no idea who this person is, nor do I care, so I have no dog in this particular fight either way.

To be fair, she actually did more to get involved and get into the actual game and playing it than say Rachel or Anna (who are more connected and established in other areas so they received less flack)

This. And also, it's always nice to look at something pretty.
She worked hard and had fun, entertaining us during that.

i really liked her SC2 stream as she desperately tried to improve, looking forward to her return

I'm not typically a fan of companies bringing pretty girls with no knowledge of the game for ratings and views, but Lauren Elise would be cool to have back, much prefer her over the obviously fake models that want casting jobs like Tara babcock and all the other fake models that don't really like Esports or starcraft 2. Every since 2012, you have more and more non Esport loving X cam girls, porn stars or models trying to get that Esport money by pretending and trying to cast or host games they don't have knowledge about.
Hope she brings something positive to the scene though. She was pretty good in NASL.

Hope she brings something positive to the scene though. Not that it really matters but Babcock is way more of a gamer than Elise. Also would beat her easily in sc2. :D Elise is 10 times cuter though.

I meant more as a general MO.

....Everyone loves and plays video games for a source of entertainment, there is a big difference between someone who is into Esports and takes a game seriously and tries to understand it, vs a some bimbo looking for easy money being incredibly fake to grab some casting jobs about a game she has no knowledge about.
At least Lauren Elise does a lot of work and tries to learn the game as best as she could, not mention she has a insane education background compared to your random model.

I was pretty sure the white knighting in this thread would be good, I'm not disappointed Glad she comes back but I didn't even notice her absence, I hope she'll provide great entertainment to the show and competitions she might host in the futur

Because having a dude malaxing your boobs on stream while playing heartstone is kind of "selling your body". I stopped watching her after that happened.
Hope Lauren can do well.
