WARNING: April fools joke
It was announced today that Kas has left team Empire (http://www.team-empire.org/news/1766/). The contract between Kas and Team Empire expired on the 31st of March and the parties decided not to extend it. According to the site one of the reasons for this decision is the decline of the SC2 scene.
Empire's manager StrangeR stated that he wishes Kas the best of luck and is sure that Kas will still show good results. He stressed that the departure was not due to any conflicts or problems they had.
In his statement Kas recognises that he wasn't happy with his play and didn't show good results lately, so there is nothing surprising that he's leaving Empire. However he is still committed to continue playing sc2 and is now motivated more than ever to get results.

Yea yea april's fool etc...

Kas has always been on the brink of a big break, but has just never gotten it. As long as he's not quitting, he still can.
They should really extend any contract that expires on March 31st to April 2nd by default ;p

Faust852, I really hope so, but it doesn't seem very likely. At least if it's a joke it's not funny at all

Unfortunately for us the fiscal year is divided into quarters, and in many countries this quarter ends on 31 March.

Yeah but it's won't be hard to delay the announcement for 1 day right ?
|
Why do teams have to do shit like this on a day when you don't know if its true or not.

And what is Kas supposed to do during that time, represent empire for free because of April fools? The real buisness world does not slow down for April fools, even if the Internet becomes extra stupid on that day.

Like one day will change anything for Kas. + It's a statement for casual people like us, if it was true that he is no longer part of Empire, he would have know days, if not weeks before today. When you are in the game industry, everything is know sometimes month before official release. I knew about Lucifron's hiatus at least 1 month before it was announced, same for Mana being released from mouz. And I'm still a fucking casual in this scene. Big barons like team managers know things much earlier. There is a special chat conv' for them.

If it's not funny, even when it's fake, it's not an april fools..

Hm, since Hots Kas has kinda become the antihero of the sc2 scene. Hardworking but strongly affected by his nerves once it matters and even if only few players can match his work ethic he has been on the decline skillwise by a bit. So it might become difficult for him to receive offers from Tier 1 foreigner teams. Maybe being teamless or finding a new home provide him with a fresh start to achieve the success that he deserves.

This day is exhausting.
EDIT :

Edit: damn, well played empire, I haven't been fooled in a few years now. Well played.

Yeah I don't mind the ones that are meant to be obvious and funny, but this one was a bit sad and not too hard to believe.
