Sure Day9's stuff is great, and it's pretty much impossible to find anything to hate about the guy (would explain why his fans are so aggressively loyal) but he has essentially been doing the same thing for the last 3 years with very little change to his format or style. I'm sure you could find several daily's that essentially give the same lesson but with different replays. Also there doesn't appear to be much preparation in his shows. I get that this suites his style and works best for him but it can hurt the quality of some episodes. He can be talking about something and just completely losses his trail of thought, ends up completely dropping the subject without tieing anything off (despite talking about it for 5 minutes) and moves on to a totally different topic. Sure, when Trump has been doing the same thing over and over for three years then feel free to criticise away. But right now the novelty of Hearthstone is really working in his favour.

My way of pointing out that I don't watch Hearthstone and can only talk from the perspective of an SC2 viewer. I'm unable to say whether Day[9] or Trump is more awesome / educational of a stream for Hearthstone. Either way, what I am saying is if Day[9] just auto-loses to Trump in HS, he deserves to win something for what he's done for the SC2 scene far more than Destiny needs a reward for consistently annoying us. EDIT: I guess Destiny wins favourite SC2 streamer. I had no idea he was the scene's favourite. Guess I better watch what I say....

The only thing you can do is cast your vote and cheer for who you like. Complaining about other people you don't like getting more votes goes against the spirit of the whole event. I disagree with that standpoint. It's like watching an election with 20% voter turnout unfold in an undesirable way and then being disappointed in the 80% of the population who didn't vote. Not only do you have a right to vote and watch the results, but you have the right to be appalled by the outcome and feel ashamed for the population to which you belong. People don't look for social justice in an election or vote, or whatever you want to call it, but you do get what I'll call a measurement of the collective will of the society or community in question. If Destiny is this scene's "favourite stream" it speaks poorly for the scene, although he has made some personal growth in recent times...

I hadn't even heard of these polls until a Hearthstone player mentioned it on stream. I doubt most people knew about this. Of course it was in Destiny's best interest to inform his fans and have them vote for him, why wouldn't he, but it's pretty obvious very few people voted overall.

You're saying that things are lob-sided because he got a head start and the number of votes are low. So, they can either change, or get progressively more lob-sided as more votes are cast. If the SC2 community genuinely loves Destiny, I'd like to see his victory spelled out with like 80,000 votes, rather than a thousand. The higher the number of voters, the more accurate the results, assuming no foul play. Also, "Twitch will distribute a prize pool of approximately $45,000" to the winners of these 6 or 7 categories... It's not like the outcome of the "contest" is completely meaningless. The community is literally rewarding, with money, the people who win. If we don't love Destiny as a community and are just "letting him win", that paints a very trollish picture of what we are. I hope that explains my viewpoint a little better?

This is actually a fair point and I don't think many people are aware that there's money involved.

I'm honestly disappointed. Do you guys want new comers to see SC2's best stream and have them go to Destiny first? If you feel he's the best SC2 can offer then cast that vote. His stream was on when the polls opened.. His % of the lead is slowly diminishing, so I think it will end up being someone else.

You must overrate the sc2 community because you forget the sc2 community is the reason destiny rose to fame in the first place. The voting results are predictable and nothing new. The sc2 community loves players like destiny, idra, naniwa, etc. People like to rag on the lol/dota community, but the sc2 community is no shining example either really.

Of all the names on the list, Destiny is by far the most prolific and dedicated streamer. He has made it his main profession to stream. It's not a poll for "Most important SC2 personality", I hope people bear that in mind.

Snipealot just restreams other player's content doesn't he? Painuser is actually put out original content himself.

The snipealot channels pull Korean BW streams from Afreeca and restream them on Twitch. They're online almost all the time. Also this was about most hours, not about content. And personally I'd argue that, restreams or not, the snipealot channels are some of the best content out there on Twitch. ![]()
