It is with great excitement that I am able to announce that Love Your Girlfriend has recruited Jeong "Genius" Min Soo! Genius has had a ton of success in 2013, placing 3rd-4th in the Europe WCS S3 and Code S Runner up. We can't wait to see what 2014 brings for Genius but expect to see him at more events in the future!
I'm really glad to have joined the LYGF team. I was originally going to give up gaming and join the military, but was given a great opportunity by this team and it would have been a pity to quit sc2, so therefore I will practice and try my hardest and show you great results next year while playing under this team.
James "FosTA" Foster - LYGF StarCraft Manager: I am truly excited for our new addition to the roster. From when I first started with LYGF we have done nothing but improve as a team and as individuals. With the pick-up of Genius, I'm sure we are now a name to remember and to look out for.
Pascal "Alizée" Anton - LYGF Owner: This is a great day for LYGF, we hope to continue growing and making a mark in the StarCraft scene. Jeong Min Soo is a legend in StarCraft and we are beyond proud to welcome him to the family.
LYGF has been around since Feb. 2013 and have made a big splash in the Semi-Pro scene, coming first in both The Ascension & Thunderdog Top Dog EU Team League. We now hope, with the help of Genius, to break into the Pro team leagues such as ATC.
"Teamless Genius" as said by Day9 will no longer be without a team. We are happy to introduce, LYGF Genius!
Along with Genius we have also recruited Jae Hyun "LuCia" Ryu, a KR GM Terran/Protoss player.

No offense, but I think a player like Genius deserves a better team than this. But hey, mYinsanity was not a big team, and it got people like jjakji in it!
Nonetheless, I still wish the best for you all!

If you follow the North American drama revolving an idiot NaNoClouD, who is now Cells working as a part of Core Gaming management, you would know how LYGF has been wrongly accused for scamming by NaNoCloud.

O.o what a strange response. I've been on the team for a while now and I have had no issues with expenses or any part of my contract. I am sure genius will be the same.

I see posts like this and I think "No offense, but I'm going to say something super negative about your team despite not knowing anything at all about the contracts signed. I don't think your team deserves a player of this caliber. There are other teams that are equally bad but they have good players so I guess it's ok!"
I understand what you're trying to say, but it needs to be said in a better way. This goes to pretty much any poster. Any post that starts off with a negative, but ends on a positive, is not a positive post. You do not get the right to shit on a team or player just because you end with "I wish everyone good luck!" And yes, "Genius deserves a better team than this" is shitting on that team.
Posts like "I don't know who this is but good luck!" are similar, unnecessary boosting of post counts. If you want to post something about a player or team you didn't know about, post something that this announcement has taught you as well, or simply post "good luck!" There's no reason to have the negative "I have no idea who this is" in there.
It really bugs the hell out of me that posts like this are made.
Well I was hoping he would go to one of the big korean teams but at least he isn't retiring. I hope he shows us some of that magic he showed at the beginning of 2012. I still wonder what 2012 would have been like if Genius didn't pull the biggest choke in any match ever vs DRG...

I can see why you're angry, but at the same time people are free to have their own opinions. I mean, it would be kind of silly if a thread was made to only be propaganda for a team and any comments that didn't say good luck would be deleted or banned. On the same note, for any forum user, if you don't have anything good to say or don't care about the subject then there's no need to even reply to the thread
In my head, all 3 of us are both right and wrong at the same time, don't know why this conversation even exists lol
Well, uh, hmm... Left field. This came out of left field. Does kind of make sense, though. Genius has been teamless for so long that he isn't going to be the enormous money sinkhole other big name Koreans tend to be. He'll also bring publicity to LYGF and seriously raise the perceived quality of LYGF. As for his play, well that bit should go without saying.
Awesome news! Been waiting a long time for someone to pick him up. A bit surprised by the team but its amazing to still see teams taking a shot in the SC scene. GL to all!!
It seems like alot korean that joins an NA clan will likely retire. This is what happened with Jookto, Sickness, Illusion, and Yong, Crazymoving and a few others. I hope Genius doesnt fall into that category aswell. Hes been extremely skilled since WoL Beta.

Sorry if I agitated you. I will admit that I should state that I am not an expert on these matters, so my opinion does not have any professional weight. However, seeing Genius being recruited by a semi-professional team is pretty disappointing to me. I don't know how else I can sugar coat such negative emotions. Because I am not part of the process, I express cautious optimism. Sure, it's not positive, but I still hope the best for both parties. If you did not catch that, then I don't know how else I should articulate myself.
Also, if you look at my post history, I don't post very often, so I have no intention to artificially increase my post count.
wow this is well random. . . makes sense tho but still fairly hard to get my head around good luck to all involved hope it works out. hope we get to see Genius all over the place now

This...
I'm just reminded of the demise of a similar Protoss I liked. Genius is more accomplished but it's not a very appreciated sort of accomplished, unfortunately. It'll be great if this'll be a great stepping stone for both parties, butas Genous is the one I support in this scenario, my main hope is that Genius finds more success then gets picked up by a major Korean team.
That's my bias, but I think Genius wants a foreign team right now anyways.
WTF Well like TB said i hope you look after him, he is my Favorite protoss by a mile, mainly due to his play in WoL but i hope he returns to his thrown with you guys.
Was about time someone picked him up, but its definitely not who I expected. Grats to both him and his new team, I hope we can see Genius some more next year, producing great games and even greater upsets and surprises.
Lisandro? I guess LYGF managers never heard about big maphacking scandal on a russian scene with this guy in the center of it. In the end he was banned from some leagues and hes was proofed as maphacker. It is hard to say if hes still maphacking after all what happened, but he was a cheater for sure
On December 25 2013 17:39 DiMano wrote: Did Sia join too?
Yes Sia did join. He has changed his in game name to LuCia, but the wiki has him as Sia. I'll need to change it up in a bit.

Thank you for bringing it up I never knew about any maphacking scandal in Russia, but I have never had a problem with Lisandro in any team leagues nor in any practice games. I can say with confidence that he does not hack.
huge pickup by such a team. not sure who they are yet but their name is awesome, they have genius, and i also recognise HTOMario's name from streams, he seems quite formidable aswell! goodluck guys, hope to see big things next year! :D
Not sure what exactly you have promised him. Never heard of this team or the sponsors. Uh good luck I guess? I think he should have just tried out for a Korean team, he might get stuck in Korea but atleast he knows what he gets.

O, ok. Guys, they have been paying MARIO'S contract, we should not have to worry then.
If they are paying a player as HTOMario actual salary and probably the same with all the new Koreans... Im afraid this team won´t be here next year.. Guess I will be a fan as long as it last
Awesome this team got Genius! Maybe now HTOMario will get some more exposure as well! I love that guy and his determination to make mech viable in every matchup! Good luck to Genius and the team, really glad Genius didn't retire and hope this team makes a good home for him!
Edit: The shit talking on this thread is embarrassing. No respect anymore, it's no wonder that local scenes don't grow because the fans have no respect for players that don't get the exposure as the top players do. It's really sad, actually.
