(before his retirement now) my guess is that Bisu was firmly rooted in BW history and his influence in SCII is very little if negligible >< I will remember his games against roro and shine back to back. He made roro who was the final WoL champion look silly and base trading shine then hiding his colossi and getting the final extractor, he was so happy XD

Fan since 2007 and he was THE one I cheered for regardless of how he preformed in the OSL. I'm not sure if I feel sad so much as nostalgia. I had become too discouraged with Protoss in general to follow him much beyond the Hybrid year so this is a bittersweet ending. Maybe we'll see him in SSL yet, but now is when I most miss the military's Ace team. This too shall pass. ![]() The Revolutionist. Leading the Six Dragons to Victory over the Swarm.

Maybe nestea and mc to a smaller degree. Either way, doesn't matter much to me lol I don't think any of them were bonjwa status. Everyone have been come and goes. No one held the aura of invincibility for more than a season like they did in BW. Recent examples... like Life, won a GSL, disappeared. Soulkey won a GSL, can't beat innovation anymore. Innovation won WCS, can't repeat. It's hard for fanboys like me to worship players if they can't reach superstardom. Turnover rate too fast...

Turnover rate too fast... ya turnover fast but mvp stood the test of time for quite a while. GSL while is not an OSL, but was seen as the best equivalent in SCII. Life was considered a prodigy but slipped playing LoL and now he can't make it past RO16, new gatekeeper like curious.

Flash and JD should retire from SC2, too. It is only a matter of time.

All you people saying Bonjwa. If Jaedong wasn't a bonjwa then there's no way in heaven, hell or on earth that MVP was. JD's dominance was almost total for a year and a half. MVP doesn't even come close to that record. And no one called JD a bonjwa. Flash had to do the extraordinary things he had to do to get it. Maybe you can compare him to the earlier bonjwas who got the label retrospectively, but the bonjwas from Savior onwards had to really dominate. Bisu never got it, Jaedong never did, so MVP doesn't. He's in the "close" camp like them. It's like you don't even understand what the word means.

tbh I have never really understood why the big BW leagues stopped. Even post match fixing scandal OSL's had huge amounts of spectators. Definitely more than SC2 ever has had in Korea. If sponsors started becoming more hesitant they could have just scaled back the tournies. It's not like SC2 has had the best sponsor support either. BW was heavily played in PC bangs up until recently, much more than SC2 ever has. Why did the leagues stop? Most people point to match fixing as the reason but honestly I can't help but feel like Kespa and co were forced to switch by blizzard :/ I'm all for the huge growth of Starcraft in the foreign scene due to SC2, but I still can't really understand why it had to mean BW's death.
