there was only one sc scene if not for blizzard? what are you aiming at?

Sucks bisu could never really transition well like flash/jaedong. Bisu's playstyle doesn't exist in SC2. It doesn't reward what he's good at. it's called terran .
If you think SC2 Terran is similar to SC1 Protoss, you're making an extremely shallow comparison. Just because Terran does drops and harasses doesn't mean they reward the same skillset.

finally. Time to get rid of that old stuff that was shiny like 10 years ago. We need new Players like Maru etc.

I'm starting to think SC2 was the worst thing to happen to Starcraft. It is. tbh I have never really understood why the big BW leagues stopped. Even post match fixing scandal OSL's had huge amounts of spectators. Definitely more than SC2 ever has had in Korea. If sponsors started becoming more hesitant they could have just scaled back the tournies. It's not like SC2 has had the best sponsor support either. BW was heavily played in PC bangs up until recently, much more than SC2 ever has. Why did the leagues stop? Most people point to match fixing as the reason but honestly I can't help but feel like Kespa and co were forced to switch by blizzard :/ I'm all for the huge growth of Starcraft in the foreign scene due to SC2, but I still can't really understand why it had to mean BW's death. I think the scene was dropping away as you said and instead of scaling back they wanted to take a chance on sc2 making it big.

No, BW was not declining as fast as SC2 actually.
If KeSPA introduces a more free model and play both BW and SC2, then it may be better. This transition thing just doesn't work.

Blizzard. They (naturally) wanted to push SC2 out as much as possible, even if it meant making it much more difficult to have BW tounaments/etc. It was essentially forced upon Korea to switch over.

I just let out an audible "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK" when I read the headline. Bisu is the primary reason why I started following pro-BW in 2008. Holy shit, was this a kick to the gut for me. Shit, shit, shit.

User was temp banned for this post. like maru who cheeses his way to victory then proceeds to get raped by alive and scralett in wcs finals, yeah gl with that. Ungrateful starcraft fans, give the props to the leaving legend.

Well, I remember how SSL 8 had this small uproar about being blocked from playing because they needed to buy a license from Blizzard. All that just because they managed to put up a tournament with over 5K USD in winnings.

WHAT THE HELL? NO WAY. Sigh.. It doesn't matter which team you root for. Bisu was influential in BW & was always amazing to watch. This is not cool :/

The man that took HIM down. gl hf Bisu, you're a legend, no SCBW story could be complete without you.

He slayed a bonjwa, and fixed PvZ. Just look at PvZ statistics from before and after Bisu's rise. Almost every map, during like 2003 - 2006 had 55 - 60% winrates for Zerg in ZvP. After Bisu, it was closer to 50% than it was to 60. Before, it was the reverse.
Just like sAviOr fixed ZvT, and beat NaDa in the OSL, Bisu fixed PvZ, and defeated sAviOr in the MSL at the same time. Poetic.

Bisu was the reason why I started following SC in the first place. I'm going to miss him...
Sigh -.- Well I stopped really following SC2 so I guess... it kinda goes with the flow on how the scene is really. Time to change my signature again :p

Only good memories.
If he decides to come back to eSports after his service, I'm sure the community will welcome him.
