Definitely more than SC2 ever has had in Korea. If sponsors started becoming more hesitant they could have just scaled back the tournies. It's not like SC2 has had the best sponsor support either. BW was heavily played in PC bangs up until recently, much more than SC2 ever has. Why did the leagues stop? Most people point to match fixing as the reason but honestly I can't help but feel like Kespa and co were forced to switch by blizzard :/ I'm all for the huge growth of Starcraft in the foreign scene due to SC2, but I still can't really understand why it had to mean BW's death. After the match-fixing scandal BW was struggling, but doing okay. Things started going downhill after SC2's release: GOM given exclusive rights to SC2, the Blizzard lawsuit, the legal fights with KeSPA and OGN, the end of MBC Game, the (forced) hybrid proleague and transition to SC2. All of these things weakened the Korean scene beyond recovery, where BW's days were countered and SC2 was not a good enough game (and still not) to pick up the slack. All this gave LoL the perfect opportunity to be the focus of Korean eSports.

Almost every map, during like 2003 - 2006 had 55 - 60% winrates for Zerg in ZvP. After Bisu, it was closer to 50% than it was to 60. Before, it was the reverse. Just like sAviOr fixed ZvT, and beat NaDa in the OSL, Bisu fixed PvZ, and defeated sAviOr in the MSL at the same time. Poetic. I feel like we just made such a deep connection. Seriously, broodwar players were my idols at one point...and even though I was never a die hard fan of Bisu, this news today makes me 100 times sadder than Jangbi last week. I don't know why. Think about your favourite SC2 player if all the SC2 leagues and teams switched to MOBA's. Now add several extra years of attachment to said player. (5-6 years for me, longer for some.) You would probably also care.

I don't doubt Bisu will stream soon enough although I do wonder if he will eventually go to the military. He's going to lose his good looks if he loses his hair lol
