IvDgaming is proud to announce the signing of Min “ Apocalypse” Hyeong Kim to their player team. Apocalypse joined Quantic Gaming in February, 2013 during the merger of Quantic and Its Gosu. Apocalypse leaves Quantic Gaming on good terms and has the following to say about his time with Quantic Gaming.
Hello, I’m Apocalypse Min-Hyung Kim who played for Quantic team. I’ve played in the oversea team for the old Quantic and the new Quantic for 1 year and 7 months. I have received and felt many things. I want to apologize that I have to leave the team due to the personal issue and many thoughts crossing my mind. When I joined the oversea team for the first time, I was very excited, but on the other hand, I was very afraid. ?
It was because I could not speak English very well, which was very important ability. I could not communicate well or do various critical things so I felt very uncomfortable. However, thanks to the 2 months I spent at Old-Quantic House last year, my English got better little by little and I became more confident. I’m very pleased that I can communicate little better now. For me, who does not have enough social experience, the Quantic team is a place of enlightenment and rest. I appreciate that you made me a strong person who can stand still whatever I do from this experience. Thank you for the time I spent here.
I don’t think I can ever forget the precious memories of the food stores and Six Flags I have visited with Fujikura! To the Quantic players, the manager and the owner, thank you so much!
With Apocalypse deciding to part ways with Quantic and Join IvD Gaming full time we look forward to supporting him both as a team member and in his continued success in WCS America this year. Please join us in welcoming Apoc to the IvD family.

yea i was wondering as well

Bit weird how one of the best performing players in WCS America leaves a well-established and well-reputed team to join a sponsorless team most people never heard of, and who have no notable players. I hope they can live up to all the promises made.
Would be nice if the OP can elaborate on what IvDgaming is, and the other members on the team.

Their roster at the website is: Kim “Apocalypse“ Min Hyung T Tyler “Ranchinator” Norman P Mike “PicKleS” Johnston T Markus “warbio” Strömgren Z

Apoc is the f'n man. Grats! Hope this will bring new a new mindset and good fortune Min Hyung!

Going from quantic to lvd ? wtf.

yeah grats to him, but how did they afford him? I smell something fishy going on here...

I don't understand this move.

There are 13 players on the LP page, but only 4 on your website, which is the correct one? Or are the rosters divided?

Rosters are divided and the other teams have not been added to the website yet as it is currently under construction.

It was explained above. Hwangsin plays for IvD and Quantic. Quantic being his main team, and he is allowed to compete with IvD for online events.

Perhaps you and NISC can organise another Clan War at some point to test your newest addition.

GL to Apoc today in WCS Match against Minigun
|
ive played in many IvD tournaments on z33k before they had a team and had the pleasure of yogi casting many of my games. yogi in generally is a very cool guy. ive stopped playing on z33k recently and wasnt aware they had a competitive team.
i spoke to apoc a couple times whenever we matched up in a tournament and he talked about his match in wcs where he lost to minigun and said it was more of a mental issue than practice. he does majority of his practice on ladder. i dont think quantic was that much of a benefit to him, and maybe IvDprovided him with better things as they have been growing since the start (most other organizers on z33k fall apart or are no longer active).
whatever they agreed upon i hope the best for both parties. i think apocalypse is one of the best players on NA and highly underrated. IvD must've been really good/loyal to him to have him leave a more commercial team.

Nice, Apoc seems to be happy but at the same time I have difficulty understanding this move, as others have mentionned. It's hard to believe he would recieve a better salary and better opportunities (like being sent to tournaments). It must be at least comparable if he switched, or there were some significant interpersonal conflict within Quantic.
All in all I'm just happy to see him find a team where he is happy, especially when the list of retired professional players seems to grow every day.

As an update, after the announcement this morning, Fujikura (Quantic Manager) has requested that Hwangsin no longer play in online events for IvD Gaming. We want to thank Hwangsin for all the fun matches in the past and wish him and all of Quantic the best.
Good luck tomorrow in your match Hwangsin!

I have no idea what this is. You really call this a professional team, when the players are "borrowed"? When I read the news I had mixed thoughts of whether this was a team, or an organization that was sponsoring individuals, or an organization that just helped individuals find sponsors.
Why did Apoc join them? But more importantly, why was he playing for them while with Quantic, and why is HwangSin playing for them while being the team captain of Quantic?

For the 1st year IvD was just a casting team, over time a casual playing team was formed in which Apoc was allowed to play with us in small online events. As time passed, IvD Gaming's playing team got stronger and stronger and it became its own branch away from the casting team. Hwangsin was able to play causally with us then as well. Today, IvD Gaming is no longer a casual team but a professional team with no borrowed players. Apoc is chose to come to IvD gaming and additional members will be added to the roster in the near future.
I hope this helps clarify some questions. If not please feel free to ask.

Seems like apoc made the choice to join IvD. People keep saying they have never heard of them but you have to start somewhere and with apoc on their team, I hope they can get better known and help apoc progress as a pro gamer.

We are very happy to have Apoc on our team.. He is one of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Please follow his TWITCH CHANNEL as he is streaming daily now.
