I am assuming there was another $50-$100 install charge. Considering what they spent they might have gotten a tv/phone package as well. Only other thing I could think of was that they purchased a business plan but that is usually slower speeds than home plans. Either way Comcast = Scam, same goes for Charter and any other cable company that gives these bullshit speeds for such a high cost.

I mean, even Riot's salaried teams have difficulty maintaining financial stability and staying in gaming houses. (See the latest LoL Reddit posts about team Marn). And they receive 12.5k per player per season + 25k for the team. Quantic closed its teamhouse. Complexity too. Why would Root be an exception?

Or they could of went with commercial pricing (such as a direct fiber line) instead of your standard residential plans that you normally see. If they did indeed go with the business plan, then the amount they are paying isn't to far out of reach for the speeds they should be receiving.

Why would Root be an exception? if a team of 5 pro players, cant survive off of 80k a year... they all better quit and go find really nice paying jobs.. speaking as thats pretty much an average salary for a small family.. They are getting 85k for essentially nothing... if they stream, get sponsor money, get money from tournament winnings... if they are not able to sustain themselves its because they are all morons with their money, and would fail at sustaining themselves regardless of how much they made. I live in So Cal and own my own 3 bedroom house in one of the more expensive areas of So Cal outside of LA/Orange County, and support myself, pay for everything, and am still sitting on a decent cushion of a bank account and I dont bring in 85k a year atm...especially 85k just for existing and playing a video game all day.

The only difference being that sustaining that family doesn't include frequent international flights, hotel payments, and lots and lots of computer costs. That 85k should be able to keep them, yes, but I could see it falling apart quickly if they don't learn how to cook and learn how to save money effectively.
