Without a proper authority like a coach or manager in the house, eventually the house becomes a frat house sooner or later. I believe it was in one of the first episodes of Meta where Catz said that he is a friend rather than a team owner to guys living in the house. To me that sounds like this whole team house is doomed to fail before it even properly gets started. This is nothing like a Korean team house if there is no strict practice culture and for that you need a proper coach. If I had given them money I'd be seriously disappointed at them right now. All that being said, I hope they can prove me wrong. Good luck.

All that being said, I hope they can prove me wrong. Good luck. If it is good enough for League of Legends teams in the LCS, it is good enough for SC2 players. The question is finding a coach with the appropriate skills in player management and the ability to assess the player's strengths and weaknesses. I am sure they could get someone who coaches sports teams and have a work knowledge of SC2 to fill that role. Also, I don't know how you can be disappointed when they just barely got their internet running. Stuff takes time and they can't do everything at once.

The money breakdown is especially interesting to me since I've always wondered what the logistics of a gaming house are ![]() Why was no money spent on gaming equipment? Is it all provided through sponsor donations?

I'm very impressed with the transparency as far as funds are concerned. It's nice to know exactly where the money we donated is going. I have a feeling we're going see big things from ROOT soon. Even if their results aren't great, the forward strides they're making in eSports by experimenting like this are going to be very important. ROOT fighting!

Usually you pay 1 month of rent as a security deposit(which you would get back if you don't destroy the place) and then you pay your first month. So for $6000 it would be $3000 deposit + $3000 first month rent. Again, I don't know how they set it up but this is typical for a rental more so than what you described above. As far as the cost goes, for a house that has as many people living in it as they do really not bad.
