As much as I want to rant about who I like or don't like out of the lineup, I'm just going to say this instead. Every cast should have a play by play guy and an analytical guy. This lineup will be cycled through without concern for this and we'll end up with double play by play guys which is not a good time to be had. I think at this point the play by play + analytical team combo should be well enough understood by tournaments to always make it happen.

Honestly Rotterdam and Mr.Bitter should have been included in this. These guys are 2 of the best in the business and instead we have Total Biscuit and DJ Wheat who wouldn't be able to get to diamond league even if they tried.

D:. I'm not too big of a fan of axslav/axeltoss either, but oh well. I can commend them for always giving their best atleast.

But, Rotterdam and Mr. Bitter would be awesome casting this mlg

DJ Wheat is actually in diamond or masters. TB though... yeah he'll never have any game knowledge.

Looking forward to TB

Disappointed about rotterdam or apollo not being there.
But still, this should be good, nonetheless.

Axeltoss kinda bothers me, but I like him with Axslav. I know he catches some hate but I think they do okay together. and Day9 is my freakin hero, always love seeing him

I am not impressed. The standard for casters at MLG was dropped a along time ago now, and it has just stayed there. But as a decent player, I don't want to listen to this crew blowing excitement up my butt via a sheer sensory experience, and hype words. Le sigh. Who would you like?
artosis is insanely expensive and comes with tastless who is the shittiest caster out there anyway.
apollo needs to be flown in as well
all these guys have in common is that they are all currently in the US and MLG needs to cut costs where they can i guess.
still a pretty good lineup
What I'm surprised about is that they took DjWheat over Husky,I'm guessing it's a money thing as well.

djwheat is much more expensive than husky, i bet 75% of their caster money went to him and day9.

You're funny.

not really it's the truth

The truth? I can name 5 casters off the top of my head who are worse than Tasteless but I'll keep my opinion to myself. That's all you have, your opinion, nothing truthful about that.

Like who?All the casters out there right now actually play the game.Tastless does not play stacraft 2 and you can hear it from his casts. There was a time during 2012 where he actually tried to better his cast and started playing again and you can actually hear from what he is talking about that he knows what's going on,but that was a pretty short period.
Here's a tastless cast for you:
Before the game starts artosis talks about what the player has done so far and what he might do,tastless nods his head and agrees, says some generic stuff about how good the player is
Game starts, artosis talks about the map and strategy, tastless agrees says more generic stuff, inserts a joke that stopped being funny in 2011 when he used it for the 100th time.
Depending on how the game goes he says the following in between when Artosis needs a breather:
"Well guys I don't know what to say this is more onesided than a mobius strip"
"Expect gg and second"
"OH MYYY GOOD THIS IS SO TENSE ARTOSIS"
"THIS ONE OF THE BEST GAMES I HAVE EVER SEEN"

Tastless was a awesome brood war caster, because guess what,he loved and played brood war.You can't tell me that the tastless that's currently casting plays sc2,there is no way.If you would replace tastless with a sound board with his generic phrases there would be literally no difference for the audience.

couldn't agree with this more, few years ago when tasteless was boasting about being in masters you could tell he understood the game alot more than he does now. I tried to watch the GSL recently after a break from sc2 and just couldnt stand the repetative time-wasting comments he interrupts artosis with.

you honestly could replace him with a parrot or something and not reduce the quality of the cast. All he does currently is making long drawn out exclamations and say the word "nerd" or do a stupid nasal voice while saying "snarfy"

put me off after 3-4 casts after I heard the same one liners over and over and over again. Its a shame he has become such a brand which he is living off (such as day9 to a lesser extent) as it means he has no motivation or need to improve. I also feel abit bad for artosis who has to cover for him, and pretend to ignore his obvious mistakes, or construe them in a positive way. I think I heard the phrase "well we have abit of downtime so.... let me ask you a question" every game for a week before I couldnt stand it anymore

TB is funny tho, I don't really care much for analytical casters. English casters tend to be too caught up in the game, "Oh let's analyze why player is doing X, Y, Z" whereas French and Korean casters hype the crowd and make the game exciting.

I remember listening to the French casting for Iron Squid then switching to the English stream throughout the day. What a difference in theatrics. The English casters (Day9, Wolf, Khaldor) tend to be caught up on why this is happening in the game, while the French casters were enthusiastic about what was happening (and what was to come).

I don't want a school lesson on Starcraft, I want to be entertained and excited.

About 5 casters on the same stream... I'd love to see a cast like restream of popular casts with a lot of SC2 gamers discussing the game as they watch it. Kind of like how I have with all of my friends as we watch tournaments live while on skype. I just imagine tuning in to like ROOT gaming skype conversation as they all watch the finals of some tournament together could be really fun!

Seems like most people are being pretty critical including myself but sheesh none of the casters are horrible. Some are better than others but I'm not going to mute a stream because it doesn't include my favorite caster.

My favorite caster isn't there, therefore MLG is at fault.

To all of you bashing Tasteless, and in general the casters who provide colour to a cast (as opposed to analysis)... go watch the Artosis solo job of the WCS finals. Its so drab and uninviting...and really reinforces the importance of an "entertaining side-kick". The analytical caster needs someone to feed off, just as much as the fans need someone knowledgeable to listen to.
