Yes, this. The caster's entire role is to explain the game to people with less understanding of it, and jazz it up for people who can already analyze it themselves. No is casting to GM-level players, except to add emotion and fun. It's the exact same for every major sport

Saying that Innovation is the best RTS player of all time is absurd though. He has not even won a tournament yet. I get that Tasteless want to create hype, but every single big-name caster in this business has managed to create hype without telling outrageous lies. He overhyped it to a point it was bothering more than it was hyping, which is where he kinda failed.
Another thing Tasteless is supposed to do is to attract new viewers. Well I got some new viewers to watch some StarCraft and Tasteless said "you are awesome nerds" "xyz nerds" like 10 times in 5 minutes which bothered them to not watch it anymore. Personally I don't mind being called a nerd because I am. But if his only job to get new viewers to watch he failed that miserably.
I don't mind Tasteless casting itself. But my relation to his casting is bad atm because he has failed at the things he was supposed to do.

I kinda feel sad for Husky. I like the day9 and husky combination. Husky was the one that got me into watching esports and finding teamliquid and everything.
Im not a huge fan of that hyping non educational caster but day9 and husky still deliver.
Not really that fond of the rest of the caster line up. DJ Wheat is cool but Totalbiscuits behavior in forums and such is kinda annoying. axslav and axeltoss are kinda too drowsy too watch.. a bit boring.

I quite like the djwheat/day9 combo for their casual chats and since axslav went sort of full time analysis he's had some of the better strategic reads I've seen.
While I would've thought getting a current pro to sit in with tb/wheat/day9 would be a cheap and effective way to get that up to date analysis, this is by no means a bad line up. Certainly not going to put me off giving it a try.
I can't actually remember what axeltoss is like.

I don't tune into the GSL to hear derogatory comments about myself. Being called a nerd feels like an insult no matter what people make it out to be. I go to great lengths to be a healthy, active and balanced person and just because I watch SC2 I must be a nerd?
I think nerd is a word that has no purpose anymore. People will either take offense assuming it must be negative or, like Tasteless, use it to describe someone who watches a video game or likes niche stuff like comic book heroes and things like that. Thing is, the term can now apply to probably the majority of people in some way so it's a pointless word, kinda like hipster, nobody really can agree on what it means, as it can apply to almost anyone.
