No. No player in any sport ever grovels at their haters. Most likely your haters won't buy your products anyways even if you grovel at their feet. The moment you begin to try to please the haters is the point where a person truly "sells out." IdrA isn't a sellout. You should respect him for that.

There a lot of people who hate Idra with the fire of a nova and love to watch him fail. He is never going to apologize to those people, ever. And no reasonable person is every going to get upset about Idra not issuing a blanket apology.
Personally, I love idrA when he's not choking. He is entertaining. But there comes a time when the smack talk starts sounding like what a sore loser would say, and personally, that time for idrA has come.

So he stops gaming but try to defend his role as comunity guy / troll / joke. Did i get this right (vod was to boring to watch it fully) ?
Because his gaming was unimportant in the past, basically nothing changed Perhaps some of this fanbase leave the sc2 gaming scene because of it, and move on to other e-sport scense. That would be not bad... I feel that the people who are supporting him are way more annoying then he is himself.

He didn't have to grovel, a simple, "Sorry I hurt your feelings, haters gonna hate, free country and all that." Sponsors would have respected that. Haters would have respected that. Quite frankly, given how smart I've seen idrA can be, today's apology was disappointing. Because it truly showed how out of touch with reality he is.
Edit: What a sorry way to go for the mighty idrA.

People should be held accountable more for how the play rather than what they say. The more I see these comments, the more this community disappoints. I'm starting to realize that the "few" may be the majority. Fine. While you guys pansy over what a player said or who his friends are, I'm going to be analyzing his gameplay. True sports and e-sports fans wouldn't care about drama. They'd just care about good games. If people stopped caring about drama, then stupid shit like this wouldn't have to happen. This community has truly gone to shit.

So it's a premature gg for Idra in competitive gaming.
He quits the competitive scene without even spending a single week on a determined effort to try and improve.
Such a damn shame. He had so much potential. Without even analyzing his replays or having a practice partner that he didn't quickly alienate or having any will to win...he was capable of fighting Koreans in a battle of equals. He even did that recently against Polt in the first game, despite questionable game balance and being in the worst form of his career.
If he buckled down like Naniwa, he could have been amazing. But sadly, it's not to be.

The energy that goes into the negativity towards Idra is staggering. Fan posts make sense, they like the player and like talking about the player.
Posting 100 times about shit you don't like has to be the biggest waste of time. Voice your complaint about something you like and want to improve, but don't be a mouthbreathing hater. It's the equivalent of complaining about stink while sitting in your own shit.

What's the point of even saying that? Your way of "apologizing" is just coming off as being arrogant. "Haters gonna hate" sounds more like some kid that yells "yoloswag420" all the time. That's not IdrA. If IdrA ever said that, people would probably hate him even more. LOL

You seem to forget that he's probably the most popular SC2 player at the moment besides Stephano and Grubby. And he's an amazing caster.
His fanbase was annoying? His fanbase is real. We're people that don't give a shit about what people say, we only care about good gameplay. We respected him for his passion for competition. We didn't care if he made people butthurt because that's entertaining as fuck. But of course we have butthurt people in the community that like to pay attention to what people say rather than how they play. Go ahead, pretend like this is Hollywood or a TV show. You're forgetting that we're watching COMPETITIONS.

Well, that was part of IdrA's problem with his own image, right? At some point over the past year, his gameplay declined.
There was a point early in SC2 that an IdrA fan could say, "Sure IdrA rages or is BM sometimes, but he's one of the top 3 foreigners in the world." It's a lot easier to get away with being a jackass if you are at the top of your field.
The last year has been pretty tough for him, because he was becoming more popular for having a bad attitude (like Destiny) than actually being great at the game.
Anyway, I'm glad he's going to move on from playing competitively and more to content-creation, which he genuinely sounds excited about.

Its a good call for him and he does sound more excited about it. He does like his fans a lot and I think he is looking forward to focusing on them, rather than beating NA players on the ladder. Personally, I think he would make a ton of money with a subscription, playing games with fans and reviewing replays.

Whatever. I'm neither his PR agent nor anyway affiliated with Greg "idrA" Fields. No point debating a fictional scenario.
idrA has left the building.
