It's like an abusive relationship. I think IdrA's best bet is to retire from actual competition. From what I know he always wanted to study and it seems like he could use the intellectual outlet. Also, he probably has racked up some money so he can finance it. And if he needs some cash, he can just go stream and talk shit to some people on ladder.

It's a bit late, though. I would have liked to see that decision a year ago. But it's still good to see.

Jaedong may not even be as good as Life in his whole SC2 career despite his BW's successes. Yeah, well, when it comes to foreigners, I wouldn't do the equivalent of betting on a B team Terran player becoming better than Flash. No one seems surprised when good BW players do well in SC 2, but for some reason people want to act like it's impossible to predict and d+, joe smoe, has just as good of odds. Maybe if he all-ins every game.

But, to us, there's a very big difference between a player being disrespectful to an opponent in a ladder match, and a player being disrespectful to the entire community of people Is there really such a big difference? I applaud EG's decision, but the reasoning behind it smells a bit fishy to me. Either you want your players to show respect or you don't. Now suddenly drawing the 'red line' between respecting opponents and respecting the community is just camouflage. They should have come to this decision a long time ago, and they know it. Anyway, I hope Idra will finally realize that you don't have to be a jerk in order to be 'cool' and 'special'. Normally that kind of insight comes with age, in Idra's case it seems to take something else. Maybe getting fired?

I think Garfield is saying: "other players don't pay us, but the community does . . . it's o.k. to insult players, but mess with our revenue stream and you're toast". That's where he's drawing the line.

If you are "bad" against your opponent you can make an argument to cross it off as showmanship, as in you are doing it to heighten the suspension of the moment. However when you are calling the community for idiots and blatantly stating that his viewers are a bunch of fucks and that he gets payed to treat them as such and that he thinks its fucking awesome you can't really argue the point of showmanship anymore.

There are ton of people who were wrose than him in BW but much better than him in SC2 regardless of races they play. He doesn't have any excuse for being not so good at this game. deal with it.
