Maybe the American community can focus on its actually talented, sportsmanlike players rather than focusing on feeding Idra's self destructive obsession with himself. You do have them, after all.
Besides Evil Geniuses don't really need him to function anyway. If they want stream revenue, DeMuslim is a far better ambassador for the brand. If they want exposure, Incontrol is ten times the host and fifty times the person. Thorzain and Suppy are far more skilled and they've got a proleague team.
Good job cutting the dead weight.

Are you implying that Korean teams can match what EG was paying him or am I just misunderstanding your comment. As far as outside of Korea goes, yeah EG had the best facilities and he screwed it up. Most Korean teams can easily match IdrA's salary with EG, especially KeSPA teams.

Freckin EG....
Treating kids like they're pieces of meat. Idra made EG so much money over the last few years. Now that they feel he wont generate as much money, they throw him out like trash.

The truth doesn't always sound pleasing to the ears and it doesn't always lead to good results, which is why so many are dishonest and only spew bs. Lesson learned here is do w/e you want, but simply don't make it appear that your employer condones it and shares the same sentiment.
So basically it's cool to BM everyone (even teammates), but don't implicate paycheck issuers. Like that's the first time he's said anything disparaging about his fans... If someone gives you shit, you probably want to "own" them back. If he didn't get fired for that post, he would have done so. You can't really read into "o, he is not thankful for any of his fans or has no respect for any of them." How many viewers do you think Idra would have lost over those comments if EG didn't say anything/do anything about it? Probably 0. He probably would have even gained viewers, just to see what he will do next, only validating what he said.
It's unfortunate he's not playing Terran in HotS, considering the success of Terrans in BW that were far worse than him. For people saying Idra is the most popular player, well who is also viewed as the most BM player. If you don't view him as a good player, then why does everyone like him? Personality? Well, he showed it and now it's a bad thing because maybe it's directed towards you? Maybe stop encouraging BM/rewarding it, then. Anything for entertainment that's not at your expense.
If a player with a BM persona is going to eventually get fired for it, it's disappointing when it's pretty G rated/mild in comparison to some other stuff. But, I guess, it was simply directed towards people that are off limits. Not much of a lesson to be learned here or a drastic change in personality required. lol he won't become suddenly great at this game just because he changes his race to terran. That was more to do with his initial choice in race. Zerg was better in WoL, but now Terran is better. He might not become great, but when you see people like QXC some bad c+/b- BW player looking like god in SC 2, there's simply no way Idra wouldn't be faring a lot better now if he originally picked Terrran.
They are different games. People who are really good at BW may not be as good in SC2. Jaedong may not even be as good as Life in his whole SC2 career despite his BW's successes.

On SOTG incontrol said idras earnings were "ballpark" figure $6000 a month so maybe $5000 or $7000???.Thats a lot of cash to lose.

Yea, I'm sure he made EG millions, if not billions! Really makes me wonder why there's people without an esports pro-team! Free cash!

Lol yes it makes for a popcorn-popping night of reading these people's hilarious attempts at justifying Idra's behavior and/or pretending like EG "did something" to him and is somehow "to blame for it all".

Good luck, Grack, hope you get the results you're after.

Idra is one of the best NA players what ever what anyone says and has potential to become top 1 foreigner whatever Kas says, he was one of the best players on Brood War and in the early SC2.
Before you could discount his BM as part of his intense passion for the game. But lately, over the course of the past year, he's basically admitted he hates SC2 and is in it for the money. His last post basically confirms that he thinks he gets paid to BM and 'pander' ... when in actuality, he gets paid to win
On SOTG, InControl admitted that EG was making a conscious effort to shed their image that EG is only 'in it for the money'. IdrA defeatist and cynical attitude lately would pretty much be a slap in the face to management if that's the case.

Welcome to the real world
In more serious note this is just a business move from EG. If you think one of your players don't do their job you fire him.

firing idra is uncalled for he was just joking around with his fans but some of the none fans took this way out of hand. EG should not have fired him that is way to harsh for just a joke.

He's been making those "jokes" for years now.

Hates SC2 ? After some months at McDonalds without 6000 doll a month where boss will not wait three years for firing you after insulting the clients or collegues, i'm sure he will love playing Starcraft.

I really hope this serves as a BIGGER wake up call for IdrA; relative to the non-Korean scene, he's pretty well off in terms of his talent/skill at the game (as much as people may dislike him, you can't deny there are still a lot of foreign "pros" that aren't as good). Anyway, he has the capacity to achieve, his mentality just isn't there. You play with so much negativity, it's just so hard to prevent it from affecting your play. I think from Alex's viewpoint, this was the proper thing to do. Now, all we can hope for is IdrA to shape up and make a strong come back. Those other foreign "pros" often post more results than Idra. He hasn't won or done anything relevant since the beginning of 2011 now. His attitude towards the game has always been extremely negative (he'd much rather blame his losses on balance than on his own mistakes) and his behaviour was pretty toxic. He's extremely lucky that EG didn't boot him sooner. As far as sports teams go, esports teams are very lenient in keeping players on board who just don't perform.

You mean how EG paid Idra and in return Idra created revenue for EG. And when EG figured they wouldn't be getting their moneys worth anymore they fired him? Damn that sounds almost like something only every company in the face of the earth would do.
You're right, shame on EG. How could they fire an underperforming employee!
