Also are you saying that top teams playing each other is bad? I don't want there to be a doubt that the person who won played good enough to get to that spot.
Also there is no amateur competitive league so we should see top players play each other more then in real sports.

I doubt they'd keep OSL and throw away SPL given the importance of each.

SPL is not out though. KeSPA will continue SPL as always without any changes.

Blizzard ogn global starleague, sounds good to me ^^

Maybe the good news is that MBC has realized their wrong ways and will reintroduce the MSL to go along with GSL and OSL....... ... Who am I kidding..
If it comes down to exactly one league. and you had to choose between KeSPA and GSTL 10 times out of 10, it's going to be KeSPA, they have all the big name korean sponsors, save LG and maybe Redbull.
If it's a Kespa league, teams are required to put in a deposit. EG-TL bypassed this because they wipe their butts with $100 dollar bills and were able to afford it. Can other teams do so as well?
Prime, NSH are pretty much dead though if it comes down to putting in a deposit. Axiom/Acer joining the league is a very small possibility unless Acer decides to go "F-it" and sponsor them hard. TB and his wife (forgot her name) does not have THAT Much money to spare. In the end.. 8 Current KeSPA teams + LG-IM FXO Startale Azubu Most likely Team MVP is the outcome (They have a pretty good respectable LoL team and some solid players in Keen, DRG, Sniper etc.), with Axiom/Acer would be put in a very awkward situation and Prime and NSH are running in fumes as it is and may come to a close.
Even if we lose out on some good teams and players, the new league..if it happens will be quite the eye-candy with the kinds of match ups in place. But who knows right? Maybe with OGN/GOM/Blizzard partnership, some subsidy towards KeSPA, and with 3 channels broadcasting SC2: SpoTV, OnGameNet, GOMtv, This will give incentive for one of the old telecom team like Hwaseung, or the beer company; Hite, or even some Soju company to sponsor a Prime or an Axiom/Acer You never know with esports.

Why not Blizzard OGN Global United Starleague? Would be a real innovation (bad pun intended).

Come on I wanna see where is merica's curling team winning championships left and right...
They also have a shit Cricket team. I dont even know if the U.S has a field hockey team. Seriously, the only sports America is good at is the ones where they are like one of 5 countries with an actual professional league. Not that many places have basketball leagues, baseball, or american football. Seriously stop being so elitist. The U.S isnt the center of the world like they would have you believe. Man I hate living here sometimes.
more on topic: I hope Proleague doesnt get closed down or anything

Afaik there's no changes with GSTL or SPL. Don't worry~
Edit: I haven't been told to keep this private & there's no NDA or anything afaik, but a lot of the stuff is unclear so I don't want to say something that is incorrect.

GSTL Finalist vs. OSTL Finalist = Super Saiyan Starcraft Playoffs

That's exactly what I think. But again, why coming with such a news in the middle of the Proleague ?

And, if OSL ends up, it's basically not Blizz's fault. I think OGN completely lost wills to continue OSL after the failure Final of the Auction All-Kill OSL, and the great success of their LOL Championship. Blizz. is just killing OSL with a ventilator to let it reborn with GSL.

This needs to be on the top of this thread until someone else who actually knows something claims differently

Totalbiscuit @Totalbiscuit 8s OK, I spoke with Blizzard. Under embargo on the main announcements, but the bad rumors appear to be incorrect interpretations of fact

Also, I don't understand that many of you want the MBCrised Gom, but there is already SPOTV for the spot, and the competition of Proleague and GSTL basically makes the scene healthier.
The united new proleague is hardly going to be made, because: First, the KeSPA and ESF have different characteristics, and what they need and want are different. Second, Blizz. seems basiaclly not really interested in it. Last, nobody in the scene wants KeSPA to be as strong as before (esp. GOM and OGN), because they were completely tyrants when they had the power. They ran a monopoly that's for sure but even if they did, they did a solid job, despite all that complaining clawing and fighting, they still popularized esports and grew sc:bw into the force it was during the golden days (of course, guys like Oov, Nada, Boxer, Savior and Flash helped)
It makes sense for teams like LG-IM, STartale etc. to join Kespa teams in the end. As FXOBoss mentioned, its hard to pick up new sponsorship due to the circumstances, and a lot of the teams are running on fumes, barely staying alive. With Kespa, sure they have to change some philosophy, but their sponsor gets more exposure, more popularity, and more recognition for their players.
Kespa/Esf, even if people disagree with it, is the best thing that can happen for the growth of esports (along with the return of IPL), there shouldnt be such a great divide as it is now as they both ultimately have the same goals. Exposure + $.

If this just ends up as GSL/OSL schedule coordination with crossover seeding and more Blizzard involvement I'll probably laugh a little.
