"Unfortunaly" GOM changed their code a schedules, Grubby cant play with the new schedules, even in that way nobody cant blame him. Grubby is innocent in both situations. About Stephano: As expected he forfeit his code a game after he "only" went 3rd place at his code s group.

this is so funny to read. guys GSL is not the be all end all for everyone. yes it is the most estabellished and hardest but its not the center of every sc2 pro's life. if stephano wants to do something else atleast hes upfront about it and let you know before hand. hes in it for money it makes sense anyone who didnt see this coming is either a delusional fan boy or just didnt know stephano.

OT : Not surprised, though this is a huge disrespect... I mean, come on, you get a special treatement by GOM, and then forfeit it... ? Don't accept the seed if you're just going to embarass yourself with it... It's a gift in the first place... And though I'm not a specialist of Korea's culture, I feel they'll take it far more seriously than we do...

Stephano never really showed interest in the GSL. How is this a shock to anyone. Played as a fan service, lost, left. This is exactly what everyone should have known would happen.
That being said, the way to fix this is for Major tournaments to start respecting dates and player obligations so no conflicts happen. Yes this would be hard and time consuming to do but it is necessary. Necessary so that major tournamens all get the best players available to them, that also want to be there.
And GOM doesn't need to stop giving a free foreigner seed. It's a nice reminder to Koreans that they still dominate. Also it's a nice fan-service to foreigners allowing their 'heros' to play in the GSL.

Yonghwa is in the same situation, right? Will he forfeit IEM?

Don't imply that everybody who's frustrated with Spephano and his GSL affair is ignorant. There is no reason for this to happen, Stephano should either tell GOM before hand so that they can plan around it, or just not bother at all if he keeps chosing other tournaments over GSL.
Are you dumb? The dates of IEM have been known for months and Stephano has been qualifed as long. Its the IEM Season VII - World FUCKING Championship. GSL is beyond stupid setting their U&D matchs for the same week and expecting people not to forfit. Or they just didn't care, which seems to be how they have operated in the past.
People need to stop acting like no one could have known that Stephano was going to IEM on March 5. It is posted on the TL upcomming events in big bold letters.

Very disappointing in stephano. Playing at IEM is way more interesting for Stephano than GSL.
But not for us fans. It is a much bigger accomplishment to get into Code S than place high at IEM where he won´t even necessarily meet the best koreans.

1. IEM sets their schedule
2. EG books the ticket
3. GSL reveals dates for U/D
HOW CAN YOU FORFEIT?!?! RAAAGE!

Sometimes it's just not possible and I think this is one of these times. But saying they don't care is just wrong.

Lets see which is more important:
World championship with a prize pool of $100,000.00 that was announced months ago.
Qualifying match for the GSL. Prize pool: Might get taken to lunch by one of the casters because its fun.
I am not sure which one I would pick...

How is it fan service if he didn't show any effort.
See this is very disgusting in esports (even in sports) where the player has a mindset to follow the money rather than being on top with glory etc. If all foreigners will be like this, I'm sure they'll forever be roflstoped by koreans.
Stephano should stay out of the GSL or even PL if he's just treating these tournaments as a joke. And I'm saying this because it's very disrespectful to GOM to give him a free seat in CODE S, get owned then leave.

Management certainly had a big say in this. Can't blame stephano alone. Iem provides better exposure as well.

chsssssss. what a shit, its okay stephano, I won't cheer for u anymore

GSL is the most prestigious tournament.

It's not as much as IEM, but it's more than just a meal lol

He made the right decision.
Although it's gonna suck for him if he doesn't get bank at IEM now.

GOM is extremely disrespectful to teams and players with their abysmal scheduling. They love to release their schedule with just a few days notice.

not surprising tbh.
i hope koreans fly out and along with koreans in foreign teams, tear apart non korean tournaments and make foreigners cry >:D
