the more i look at Stephano, the more i appreciate players like Naniwa

well, at least he won't embarass himself further.

Why am I not suprised ? I though he would quit even before Code A.
StarCraft II for ever.

I really dont think he will do very good in IEM and GSL, maybe quarterfinals in IEM if he is lucky with the brackets.. he has been playing quite sloppy the last months..
i balance whine all the time.

He is bad. I used to really like him as a player but I think he jut isn't that good anymore. I get the feeling he plays less now than he did when he was on Mill. Seems like he isn't having fun anymore.

It's sad, foreigner after foreigner, playing on a free GSL seed, drops out as soon as they see that things aren't easy. These invites are a waste, if they had to qualify like everyone else they wouldn't play if they weren't serious. Other than Jinro and HuK, nobody has really tried to set a foot in the GSL.

Makes sense from a financial standpoint. No point playing in the world's toughest league just for a chance to compete in it, whereas he has a much better chance to actually win money by competing in IEM.

Sucks for the viewers though :/, and IMO, is also a reflection of his lack of confidence in his abilities.

Stephano is terrible in HotS. Its not like he has any chance to place Top5 in IEM.

This is why I don't like the GSL sometimes, so unprofessional. If it were Kespa there wouldn't be players dropping in and out as they want like this, In fact, they would never give out a bailout seed to attract viewers.

Another foreign seed wasted.. Please Gom no more seeds -.- Foreigners have just proven time and time again they don't deserve them.

Also I hope Stephano gets crushed at IEM. gives up an up/down spot after GOM gave him a seed to Code S... Never liked Stephanos attitude and it seems I never will.

Stephano maybe realized that GSL simply did not fit his style well, and spending more time in Korea would be a waste of time and potential money he could be earning by playing in foreign tournaments. I expected this a bit honestly, because he didn't seem so motivated in Korea.

He wouldn't have advanced. Participating to these Up and Down would have been a double fail : Code B + no IEM

How is that "disappointing" or "nice" from him?
He had to make a choice : IEM or Code S qualifying. When Rain forfeited his code S spot for MLG, did you wish GOM would ban him too?
He thought IEM was more important to him, don't judge him on this choice..
Also, he had a seed for Season 1, he used it nicely I think. it's not like he forfeited his spot for season 1, it will be season 2 already

Not to be a hater but, it really seems like he only went to korea as a service to his team/fans. He has said many time he is not interested in playing in the GSL. He is not even interested in being in korea, he just want to make money. Which is not a bad thing but it just doesn't feel like he put his all into korea/GSL or ever will.

I think he's starting to regret leaving Mill overall.
He's getting like 2k more per month as EG ( Mill proposed 6k, EG is giving 8k ), but so much more constraints.

Not too surprising. The only reason he's playing in GSL and proleague is because foreign tourneys were basically on break till march. I always figured he would only play in one GSL this year and with foreign tourneys back in full swing, I suspect he will be leaving korea in march and will be forfeiting his code A spot.

And this is why I have a big problem with foreigner seeds.

With Code A and Code B already as stacked as it is, it's simply unfair that some players get free walkovers because of Foreigner players that either forfeit matches willingly or just don't take the tournament as seriously as the Korean players do due to wider range of opportunities.

I saw it coming and I expected it, but that doesn't take the bad taste out of my mouth. If foreigners want to accept their seeds they should be obligated to finish out their GSL runs without forfeiting if they want to accept their seed, I'm sure there's plenty of other players out there that would love that opportunity.

he plays for money. no surprise here. kind of tired of foreigners abusing their seeds though.
