HE shouldnt accept invitation in that case. Naniwa or Huk never forfeited their matches.

Not surprising one bit, GOM please get them to sign that if they accept a seed they HAVE to stay in the league and can't forfeit for other events for at least 6months or something.

Money trumps big title chance apparently
Too bad
Chances are slim, but still, without participating in the GSL, he can never be the best.

How is it fan service if he didn't show any effort. See this is very disgusting in esports (even in sports) where the player has a mindset to follow the money rather than being on top with glory etc. If all foreigners will be like this, I'm sure they'll forever be roflstoped by koreans. Stephano should stay out of the GSL or even PL if he's just treating these tournaments as a joke. And I'm saying this because it's very disrespectful to GOM to give him a free seat in CODE S, get owned then leave.
Yeah, because know that everyone in professional sports is in it for the "glory" and doesn't care about money. The same with Koreans. They don't play for the money, ever. Not even in BW. Its not like Nada ever had an appearance fee to even play at an event or all the Korean teams were not run by sponsors. No, they all played for the Glory, just like all the players in GSL right now.

99% of all football-player in europe are so as you describe. Pretty sure, in esports the same, maybe except korean sc2. But the tendency that the koreans do the same is there... look parting, squirtle, etc..

Eh, Stephano wasn't going to do anything in GSL anyway

Takes the easier foreigner tournament instead of trying to prove the doubters wrong by performing well in the Up/Downs. Can't help but wonder if he even thinks he could advance so would rather try winning an easier tournament instead.

This might have been asked before, but is there any chance they will change the groups? Otherwise there is a group with 4 people and some with 6... They could just randomly pick a player from the 6player groups one would think.

THIS VIDEO says how I feel about GSL vs. IEM

I hope he will stay away from Korea from now on. From a spectator point of view I prefer to see Stephano doing well on the EU/NA scenes than meh in Korea. Korea was not a total failure though since he did pretty well in proleague in my opinion.

It's the nature of competing in the GSL. If you want to go to a lot of international events there will be scheduling conflicts.

Very disappointing in stephano. Playing at IEM is way more interesting for Stephano than GSL. But not for us fans. It is a much bigger accomplishment to get into Code S than place high at IEM where he won´t even necessarily meet the best koreans. Lets see which is more important: World championship with a prize pool of $100,000.00 that was announced months ago. Qualifying match for the GSL. Prize pool: Might get taken to lunch by one of the casters because its fun. I am not sure which one I would pick... You realize that in GSL you always get money for a season? It's not as much as IEM, but it's more than just a meal lol
Oh I didnt know that, how much is that? In the hundreds of dollars or maybe thousands of dollars? I always thought top 32 get paid some

So in your little world GOM has no responsibility when they straight out of the blue changes Grubby's play date by a month? Disregarding any plans and money Grubby has already invested in tournaments and plane tickets? I almost starting to look forward to KESPA taking everything over in HotS.

Meh.
He'll still be in code A at least.
