He thinks a year "loaned" is not permanent. But esports contracts are a year (or less) anyway, and we've seen time and time again a player cannot be compelled to join or stay on a team if they do not want to. So really this should just be considered as an unreserved move to EG, and a suggestion he may return to T8 afterwards if he doesn't like it.

In other sports, there are rules to prevent the rich teams from poaching all the best talent after the teams which have invested in them when they were nobodies turn them into huge stars. I don't think you understand. In Soccer, for example, even after a player's contract has expired, a new team who wants to transfer him has to pay a transfer fee to his original club. This is to protect the smaller teams who grow the talent, from losing all their players to rich teams without any compensation for all the years they invested into those players, as soon as the players become successful.

KeSPA is like any other professional sports. Even if player's contract expired, your own team still have advantages to sign you first, other teams will have to pay more or simply wait in line compared to prior team. Let alone Jaedong's contract may not expire after one year, in that case, transfer fee will be a problem.

Parting worked hard and achieved great things to deserve a salary which Startale was unable to match. good for him. I am guessing EG since they need a protoss and seem to have deep pockets... idra, huk, thorzain, stephano, revival, AND je-fucking-dong lol.

I hope PartinG can maintain his soul without the benefit of practicing at the StareTale house.

I guess EG is just appealing. Hell, who wouldn't want a fat check and an organization that has no strict practice schedule, and that couldn't give 2 shits about if you win or lose as long as you wear their logo, make some tweets, and do a commercial or two. Those Koreans on EG that you're talking about actually have a very strict practice schedule (much more so than in our NA house). They are not allowed to live in the house unless they commit 8 hours a day to training. They have designated break times, designated practice partner times, designated free play time (i.e. streaming), and do all of this seven days a week. In addition to that, our Korean coach (Trot) tracks the hours they spend practicing and reports those hours to our GM daily. He also evaluates the players every other day with our GM in a personal manner. From reporting about Proleague matches, to discussing roster draws, to informing our management of any additional needs or suggestions from our players, the conversation between our Korea house and our core management is ongoing. So no, I'd say we have quite the practice schedule and that we do "give two shits about winning or losing."
This post made me so happy ^_^ Thanks for that

Soccer is not the only pro sports on this planet. Never heard transfer fee in NBA and many other leagues.
Even in Korea and Japan's other sports leagues,a player fulfilled his last contract often transfer to another team freely.

What? If a player's contract has expired, he gets to walk for free to another club. Other clubs do no not have to pay any transfer fees. Bosman Ruling. This is why clubs start contract negotiations ~18 months before the end of a contract so that if contract talks break down, they can put the player on the market to earn the transfer fee.
Edit: VV post below: maybe check the second post of the previous page. It's been posted.

"Dirty cash" or in other words, sponsors, could have really helped out TSL.

Startale's Protoss Representative Parting left the team.
On the 3rd Startale released a press release stating Parting left the team after his contract came to an end and is pursuing to join a new team. In the latter half of 2012 Parting won BWC and WCG and showed great skill, but after talks with Coach Won on the midnight of December 3rd he made the decision to no longer stay with the team and Coach Won respected his decision and let him go in peace.
Coach Won of Startale had this to say to thisisgame: "I am very thankful to Parting for putting in a lot of effort during his time living side by side with Startale and wish him good results no matter what team he joins".
Paring who made the decision to leave Startale stated" Startale is a great team, but I want to experience much more things while I'm still young. I am very thankful toward Coach Won who put gave me so much attention".
Meanwhile Parting who is now teamless has not made a decision on which team he will join, but looks to find a new team very soon.
Based on this Parting goes full foreigner( ) and joins a foreign team where he will be their ace. I can see a foreign team thats solid, but doesnt have an uber ace like Complexity or Fnatic to pick him up.
NO, NO, NO, PLEASE NO . Maybe if he goes to Liquid, but please not EG.

EG - Korean team with Foreign Sponsors is gonna fail eventually. The only reason people watched EG was because of foreigners/personalities.

Yes, but kespa rules traditionally have put in place a transfer penalty, and a much steeper one than that of soccer, at that.
