JYP might have a hard time in round 1 and Dark has been playing well lately, hopefully Taeja is back to his best.

Actually, I think Nestea has a better shot if Heart cheeses. Nestea's late game ZvT is just not very good from what we have seen. But he said he does well in practice so who knows.

Classic got a pretty raw deal also ByuN Seed rematch incoming? YongHwa's group is interesting, he should roll over everyone (if Squirtle doesn't snap out of it soon). He definitely have sword potential. If he goes directly from Code A to GSL Champ, does he get a Zweihander instead? Flash got an easy group... again, see if he can cash in this time MMA's litmus test right away

Suppose the best player has probability p to win any single game, and the other guy has probability 1-p. Then p > 0.5 1-p < 0.5 Now, the probability of a 2-0 for the best player is p^2, and the probability of a 2-1 is 2(1-p)p^2 = 2(1-p) times the probability of a 2-0. This factor 2(1-p) is always less than 1 (since 1-p < 0.5), so the probability of 2-1 is always smaller.

The ones I'm interested in are: TaeJa v Dark Genius v hyvaa (poor genius ;_;) Sparta v Fantasy (that should be easy but anyway GO FANTAA~~~~) MC v BrAvO (Man, how many name does this guy have. I liked his playstyle though in PL, so hopefully he pulls a surprise) Maru v LosirA (poor LosirA :/ but Maru's in a hard slump so he might fall out) Sirius v JD (JD must get through at whatever cost @.@) SuperNoVa v First Heart v NesTea (just would like to be relieved that NesTea's pulling through) ByuN v Terminator (feel like this could be a lot of fun) aLive v Flying (good players of the MU) Shine v JangBi (rooting for JANGBANNGGG) BaBy v Brain (the names :D) MMA v ByuL (this could be super fun if MMA is playing well) And then the next round might include some sick matches once again, like: MC v BrAvO against RorO SuperNoVa v First against HerO Bomber v Classic against GuMiho aLive v Flying against Mvp T.T JangBi v Shine against sOs MMA v ByuL against Keen oh jesus christ that's some bad luck

MMA vs Byul and Maru vs Losira are my favourite two matches. Also, if Fantasy wants to go to Code S directly he'll likely face either MC or Roro :-) Flash vs Baby would be nice too. Jeadong could play only ZvZ if Hyun gets kicked down, which i don't hope as i like Hyun and Jaedong!

Lots of epic matches, this Code A looks even more stacked than Code S even. O-o Looking at who plays, there are a lot of matches where I want neither of the player to fall into Code B, for example Nestea vs Heart, Losira vs Maru, San vs Happy and First vs Supernova. Maybe a bit of IM bias showing through. ^.^;;

Other mediocre korean players have regularly made the top 4 of MLG's. If he'd won it, then we could talk. He's still got a ways to go. He's certainly got the talent though.

The first comment wasn't kidding. None of the KeSPA players are playing each other in the first round even when there are so many of them, which is odd. Well calling flash a mediocre kespa terran is just plain ignorant. A "mediocre" terran wouldn't place top 4 MLG in todays sc2, maybe in early sc2, but not today. Don't try an insult players by calling them "mediocre" just because you have a thing against kespa players especially when they qualified into code A. To me it's yes and no man. I cannot really compare the two tournaments due to the format. It's like playing different difficulties of mine sweeper with the biggest setting. For me MLG it's like playing on the easiest setting where you have ten to twelve landmines; whereas, Code A/S falls under the advanced setting where almost every player is a landmine but at least you have more time to plan out your every move whereas the other style is more like kamikaze. Flash will be tested.

Code A is definitely much more interesting with all the KeSPA guys making it through Code A qualifiers.

I think there is something to say about MLG's shotgun format where you have no time to really prepare for a particular opponent and instead have to rely on your raw skill and experience to carry you through a 3-day long gauntlet of some of the best players in the game (an not depends if you get lucky in the brackets). You also have to deal with the lively crowd being 3 feet from your chair at times, or not even having a chair at all.....*nudge* *nudge*

Your conclusion may be correct, but the math is faulty. You're assuming the probabilities are independent, which they are not. Good work either way though ^^
