Eventually they might discover that some of those other tournaments might be more worthwhile to participate in. As mentioned, going to America is a pretty big thing for the KeSPA players. Isn't that what people want in MLG anyway? It's SKT. Pretty sure they can do whatever they want. And By.Sun/SKT wouldn't have pulled out if they weren't confident that he'd be able to re-qualify for Code S again. Cut the kid some slack. He's only doing what people want of him. And that includes seeing him play in America. Do you really want to see the new hope of Protoss not make it through the open bracket? No one cares Rain wanted to play at MLG Dallas. The stupidity is waiting TWO DAYS before a tournament and then asking GOM if they could change their schedule around for him. If Rain had asked after he lost MvP a week ago, there would be zero problem. GOM would have moved Rain back to next week, moved a group forward and everything would go on without a hitch.

It's just one season of Code S, life will go on. We should be giving Rain nothing but positivity right now, no need to get him bummed prior to playing in his first foreign tournament.

But if he honestly forfeited his Code S seed for a CHANCE at winning $25,000 and having to go ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE OPEN BRACKET, then he might be the best player in the world, but not the best decision maker. Hopefully GSL does what they did with (other)Rain and suspend him for a season. Rain was one of the GSL's main stars after S4 and could have been a reason why a lot of people bought a ticket. I guess making a big name for himself in America is a good move, and he does have WCS Global Finals also this month that he might have put more priority on than Code S, but it seems like a foolish move. If he was in group play, I can maybe see it, but what happens if he rolls MC in the OB, loses a PvP and then has to win 30 matches in a row to even make Championship Sunday? Edit: I just realized this is the second time in history a player has given up their Code S seed willingly. BOTH WERE NAMED RAIN. This is well said, I haven't thought about people buying ticket to see the rising star but it does make sense; as such, hopefully he gets some suspension or some sort. But, then again, weren't there other players that gave up their GSL spots for other tournaments?

Sure he waited to make it until the last minute, but it's only his passion for playing in front of the fans that is causing this.

I would be almost certain rain made his own choice to come to MLG its a much easier group for a player of his caliber to play in not to mention everyone keeps saying how the prize money isnt huge and the open bracket will be tough... however if he does well which im sure he will. He is guaranteed a spot in group play of following MLGs why would he miss this and a free flight/trip to america just to play in GSL which wouldnt offer a chance at any pay for weeks. there are alot of people and the percentage of players are mostly easier, however, there are still good korean players like Life for example so its not gonna be a cake in the walk......

SK t1 contacted us, Rain wants to win Dallas and asked to attend. He's just a 18 year old kid, who can blame him for being excited to come play in front of foreign fans? The timing is a mistake but again, he's just a kid.
