Shouldn't there be some sort of penalty for forfeiting so late? Rain represents 25% of the players playing tonight, and potentially more of the games. There has to be something to deal with this...

Makes sense to me, if GSL only got the schedule the day after they announced their own and couldn't accomodate a reschedule for one player, it seems fair enough that Rain get dropped to Code A for going to another tournament, his choice or not.

GSL have taken the right course of action to ask for teams to deliver their players' schedules before they make the group announcements. Hopefully this will lead to better co-operation in the future.

Bad decision from Rain imo. Now if he misses out on any money at MLG and gets a tough matchup in Code A (there's this guy called Flash, for instance), it may be a very costly decision for Rain...

To be honest, it could have been either, but I'd lean towards Rain wanting to go to Dallas. For Code S he stays in Korea and will continue to do as he has been training. But now given the chance to go to MLG, he can travel all the way to the US, meet new people, fans, and culture that most Koreans probably brought home positive and very exciting news. Either way, Rain is going to make a storm wherever he goes.

While it doesn't matter the reason he goes, if he knew ahead of time then he should have informed GOM long before the point that he did. I wonder when his plane tickets were purchased.
