I know MLG is not easy but I am still dissapointed that I wont be seeing Rain compete in GSL where the best of the best come out to play, I was really looking forward to seeing how he would do. I hope its not because of kespa or MLG being evil. Funny that both people to give up code S spots were called rain. Imagine the reaction if a foreigner left code S to play through the open bracket of MLG

Less exposure for them. Less chance to win with their best player out of the tournament.

The far more prestigious tournament which he probably has a bigger shot of winning since he doesn't have to go through crap like the open bracket or MLG..

From a business standpoint, going to MLG is logical but somewhat risky because if Rain gets taken out during the Open Bracket, it would be really embarrassing for both Kespa and SKT.

Less chance to win with their best player out of the tournament. Kespa have done this in the past too, in BW, pulling players out, in order to diminish a league/TV importance. Rain just won OSL, a tournament of mixed Kespa and ESF players, so he is the current best player. By leaving GSL he makes GSL look less legitimate than the OSL.

True, but this is if Stephano told GOM he was going to play, got seeded into Code S, and then went, 'Hey, can I go play at this foreign tournament?' two days before his match. Stephano always has the decency to decline.

And ESF can do the same to OSL and any ESF player forfeit his OSL matches like this. It works both ways. Its a shitty situation, but it really doesn't benefit Kespa to have rain ditch so late.

"It's not over: KESPA plays for keeps" blog. Interesting theory. I still disagree about the actual amount of leverage. But can you imagine how huge this would be if Rain had won last season? Too bad it would be somewhat unfair to the players in the group.
