I don't know if her image as an actor will suffer from this, but if Starcraft is as popular as they say, it may actually. May have to switch career to movies where women with such character are actually wanted.

How did she make a mess? Boxer and Jessica started slayers and had a VERY good run. They won the very first GSTL, MMA won best new comer of 2011, and they even had the most amount of players in code S for 1-2 seasons. Jessica has enough proof to show she didn't embezzle money from the start. It's the players change of attitude that started the whole collapse. Some people are just completely ungrateful.

Agree. All the player's qualms are quite petty compared to Boxer and Jessica's position. Nobody said it's easy to be a pro-gamer, but pursuing your dream and doing what you love like so many people in the industry have done, is what makes them do what they do for little to no profits. Boxer and Jessica put in real investment and infrastructure (own sponsorships, when they could have spent it on his own personal training alone, etc.) to create the team, with little to no profits. That's the key here, teams are practically non-profit organizations and all revenue goes to pretty much just covering expenses and re-investment. Same with the players, unless they are winning tourneys, they have nothing. So who's to blame? People should take responsibility and not act like victims, so everyone should just apologize to each other and move on.

I'd just like to remind everyone to realize that customs and ways of handling things are much different in Korean culture (compared to western culture). I'm not trying to justify anything, but you have to realize that our interpretation of social aspects and interactions between them may be off. Many things that I would consider rude may be perfectly normal, and many things that I might think are perfectly normal, a Korean person may consider very rude. This can be compounded by the fact that not every word, or metaphor will translate perfectly or intact. Also, we are only seeing bits and pieces of the whole story. A wise friend once told me "There are 3 sides to every story. One person's side, the other persons side, and then there is what actually happened."

There could be things that we read and don't really mean much to us or that wouldn't even stand out or be noticed, that could have offended one person in the conversation. Which would in turn make their reaction seem overly aggressive to us.

At the end of the day, it sucks that Slayers had these tough times, and have imploded. But really, the internal workings of their team isn't really our business. Some of them have decided to share their sides of things, but really we don't know everything that went on and context is very important.

So lets just stop bashing people and mourn the loss of this team. I'm sure there is no single factor or person to pin all the blame on, mistakes were made, but it was a combination of many issues and many mistakes that has brought us here. I hope everyone involved is able to move on and be successful in whatever they do and I hope they can put this ugliness behind them and become better for it.

Agreed, except Jessica is not doing that. She is flinging dung onto everyone she can get her hands on. If she had made a professional statement about disbanding, everyone would have moved on.

Well then what should her statement has been? The moment she is coming out with the dirty laundry she "a manipulative woman who is the bane of esports" but do you honestly think if she didn't there wouldn't be like a million and 1 rumors?
Slayers is/was a very popular team so you have the craziest theories ever and some people would even believe it.

If I were her, I would leave it at coach J and eSF, and leave most of the player details out of it. Perhaps that would make me evil instead of incompetent.

If the players lost their will they won't play good anymore anyway so its a waste of time.

Lack of sponsors is what killed Slayers. Other issues were supplementary. It's not hard to explain the team's demise with nothing but "We were unable to retain sponsorships due to mismanagement. At this time we feel it would be better for our players to try and gain opportunities with other teams. Thanks for all the support." and be done with it.

Sure you can. Talk to the players in question and discuss solutions. If they really want to go and play LoL then officially release them from team because sneaking out to play other games can affect the morale and discipline in the team so it's better to let them go officially. If they avoid talking and continue to demoralize the team atmosphere or morale, terminate the contract without compensation to the player because of the breach of contract to set an example. Also reward players who practice diligently when the morale is low to improve their feeling.

If they avoid talking and continue to demoralize the team atmosphere or morale, terminate the contract without compensation to the player because of the breach of contract to set an example. Also reward players who practice diligently when the morale is low to improve their feeling.

The thing as far I am concerned on this subject, they (the management staff, BoxeR and Jessica) were not aware of them sneaking off to play LoL. They have only released the statement after the team have dispersed. So as far as the logic goes, nothing could have prevented them.

FOUR people dont make the whole team. maybe you should learn to count.

Plus the 3 who sneaks out to play LoL.

Can't blame anyone for that.

Except the management that let contracted players sneak out to play other games when they supposed to practice.

What is management supposed to do? Chain them and put a camera in the house to watch their every move?
If people already go crazy when she records a phonecall imagine the outcries then.
If the players lost their will they won't play good anymore anyway so its a waste of time.

Sure you can. Talk to the players in question and discuss solutions. If they really want to go and play LoL then officially release them from team. If they avoid talking and continue to demoralize the team atmosphere or morale, terminate the contract without compensation to the player because of the breach of contract to set an example. Also reward players who practice diligently when the morale is low to improve their feeling.

Well are you going to say that the manager of the team not knowing that their players sneak out to play other game is a good management?

Sure you can. Talk to the players in question and discuss solutions. If they really want to go and play LoL then officially release them from team because sneaking out to play other games can affect the morale and discipline in the team so it's better to let them go officially. If they avoid talking and continue to demoralize the team atmosphere or morale, terminate the contract without compensation to the player because of the breach of contract to set an example. Also reward players who practice diligently when the morale is low to improve their feeling.

If they were sneaking out, the management didn't knew.
If they didn't knew they couldn't talk and try to improve, come to a solution together or officially leave the team.
So either there was a translation error and it wasn't really sneaking out or its back to the camera's and chains.
Was it bad management that they didn't knew it? part of it yes, part of it not.
However, was it 100% bad of the player to not say anything and sneak away? yes.

I can't believe she would release a phone call like that. It made both sides look bad. If they wanted to talk about serious matters, then meeting in person is the best like Boxer said. Never talk about serious crap over the phone or internet you just don't get the same human interaction as you would in person.

I didn't know that you are encouraging teams to be more slavery oriented with 100% supervision at all time, shame on you. Jessica didn't go after them for sneaking out to play LoL, do you really want her to chase them too? She already exposed MMA, CranK, and ALICIA's misbehaviours at complete public humiliation and effectively terminating their future opportunities in Korea. You want someone who narrowly escaped death to be put up on the jury again. Cut them some slack.

I want to know what word other translators would use to describe MMA and his thugs? That part makes me laugh. MMA living the thug life! Just glad no members of slayers were hurt while MMA and his thugs ran around destroying the place.
