But he's a human being like everyone else. He has an ugly side, growing up is realizing that no one is the hero they make themselves out to be. Being the best at SC doesn't make you a great man. This is just getting too ugly. Some of these people need to have their heads checked. They are making Jersey shore look sophisticated. Talk about exaggerating... I don't know what you read there that makes you feel like boxer can't be a great man anymore now and they are even below something like jersey shore (!)... Its the same crybaby bs we hear from Jessica.....you lied to me .....you lied to me.... Cry cry... whine whine. The emperor needs to man up. This call...and its transcript are petty. Even the whole have Jessica do the call, until voices are raised...WTF.... Its amateur hour. I think the only cry baby here is the one that's actually crying. He fucking 24yr old, man the fuck up.
I'm not saying Crank is the good guy.... but this sport isn't built around Crank and his legacy.

Jessica's pretty bad, but so is Crank. He seemed to be in a very emotional and irrational state of mind. Both of them could not have communicated at all during the call. What I don't understand is why Crank could not have met up with Boxer and sorted it out. Crank says Boxer never contacted him again with an offer to meet up. Boxer is not wearing the pants in that house I think Boxer is practicising self-survival. It was actually probably better he never met up with Crank. It wouldn't have likely fixed anything. I imagine he was hoping this would all go away and to put everything behind him. I could imaginbe MMA and Crank and even Alician and Rying having the same hope (although they probably didn't think twice about it and thought they wouldn't be mentioned). There is one person who wants this drama to play out... Didn't someone say that Jessica was an actress in Korean dramas? I guess she had to start getting back into practice.
Hahah wouldn't that be awesome if she was just doing all this to practice for a part?

If the only thing he wanted was to get out, why would he choose to stay? I think he had no intention of leaving at that point as he felt he had an obligation to Jessica and Boxer for all they had done for him. After things escalated to where Boxer was calling him the cancer of the team he wanted out. But: "About this statement, I am very sorry. The slavery contract was the contract between the individuals of the management and me, not between the team and me, so even if I transferred, I had to give a portion of the tournament winnings to Jessica. There was silence for 10 minutes and boxer said ‘we do things our way’ and the conversation ended. The next day, the article regarding relegation came out." That contract is also really dodgy. It seems to be a contract between him and Jessica personally (as his agent of sorts), that really doesn't have anything to do with Slayers or a team in general. Jessica's own description of how the contract works pretty much confirms this as well. Either way, to her credit Jessica did offer a way out of the contract. But the fact that MMA and others chose to stay at that point is not consistent with the image of a manipulating, money-grabbing, team-ditching bastards that Jessica now tries to portray them (and MMA in particular) as. His personality couldn't have changed so abruptly in a few months. It's ironic that the players that actually stuck with the team until everything fell apart are now the scapegoats, even though pretty much every A teamer / talented player Slayers ever had wanted to leave or already left the team. The theory that MMA somehow poisoned all of them and was poisoning the team for almost a year, but still chose to stay on the team himself when he didn't have to (and certainly didn't need to), is simply not believable. Them wanting to stay doesnt mean they was sticking with the team. It could also mean the contracts they were offer from other teams was enough for their greedy asses. So they stay to kill off the team so they can look for a better offer from other teams. It could mean that, yes, it's just not a very realistic possibility. Slayers had no sponsors and funding left to speak of, and he was on a contract where he had to give away 20% of his winnings. We don't even know if the players were receiving a monthly salary at all. Implying that MMA couldn't get a (significantly) better offer than that from a good number of teams in early 2012 - when he was still regarded as the best Terran in the world - is absurd. Moreover, the notion that he stayed on the team with a sole purpose of killing it (!?) while waiting for a better offer? While other (then lesser) Korean players were signing lucrative contracts with foreign teams? That's just ridiculous. what so unbelievable about them wanting to kill off the team, so them have a reason to end their contract and find a better offer from a western team? If they didnt like what the contract says maybe he shouldnt have signed it? He was under contract so him getting better offer doesnt mean shit, the team would have to move him and the team picking him up at the point would have to paid Slayers a transfer fee on top of paying MMA. It better for MMA if he kill off the team and void the contract of the offer he gets would be much higher.
I don't think you're following this story very well. He was offered to get rid of the contract, so he didn't need to spend a year "killing the team" to get that at all. He was offered to get out of the contract with no expenses and no hard feelings. All the players were. The only motivation they could possibly have to stay with the team is that they genuinely wanted to be on the team and didn't want to go elsewhere. You could make an argument for some players (like Alicia at the time) not performing well enough to get good offers, but MMA would be a hot target for everyone back then. So would Ryung.
In fact, according to how both MMA and Jessica described the nature of the contract, the players weren't even contracted to Slayers at all. He was contracted to Jessica personally in some kind of weird client-agent relationship that would persist regardless of what team MMA was on.

That would be a nice end to this story .
And then they all smile and Jessica and MMA hug and Boxer comes and shakes Crank's hand. That's how I would like this to end. Or I wake up and I was like, "wow that is one intense dream. Phew, thank god Slayers is still around and they are still playing SC2 together".

Jessica offered to void contracts at the request of the players and Ganzi is the only one that wanted out. MMA had the option to leave the team free and didn't take it. Your whole argument makes no sense.

This very era in esports, from now on, until the ends of time, shall be called... the Cold War. (Did i dramatize it enough?)

for the love of E-Sports, they should all get on one table and sort things out without the community to be involved....
so much shit around Slayers and the community being so "dirty" doesnt attract sponsors ...
just my 2 cents

Needs a good picture as front page cover with Jessica stabbed in the heart by MMA, Crank with Ryung on the background. Jessica's shedding a single tear as she loved her boys so much.
All that on a classic stage of the early 1900

Besides all the drama, that conversation reminded me of the emperors class

If there is a temporary bad mood within a company it can easily be the fault of anyone part of it. If that escalates to the point where the company dies, it is always the fault of the management for not dealing with it properly.
I think I like this analogy: If a cashier at a supermarket is being obnoxious and scaring away customers, then he is to blame for that month's poor results. If the boss then let's him keep doing the same thing for months, it's the boss' fault when the shop closes.
If it was true that MMA was the "cancer" for Slayers and it's all his fault the team wasn't doing well, then he should have been fired. No one is bigger than the team. Since this didn't happen, I personally think Jessica/Boxer is using this as an excuse to make them look better. Or maybe they really just were that incompetent and didn't do anything on the team.
edit: It's also easier for me to believe the part that says "this does not mean that the players are right and Jessica is wrong. I just wish that people would look at this objectively and not just from one point of view.", as opposed to "That guy is cancer. It's his fault" (paraphrasing)

the picture needs boxer and MMA in a swordfight, with jessica's silhoutte above them, and crank and ryung in the background along with cella in sunglasses as the detective

...anyone else curious to see what exactly was written on this 'contract' that MMA & co. signed?

Tons of drama always surrounding jessica yet she never causes it right? Rofl! What a crock of shit. I wouldn't trust her at all.

Boxer always talk well, he must be either too upset or angry to deal with this shit.
