Personally, I'm glad he got suspended simply because he forced me to think about child sexual abuse. I've never understood people who can laugh with images like that in their brain. "LOLOLOL SHE'LL CARRY THE SCARS FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE." Pure hilarity. He could have said "bling i just killed a guy (((((((((((" would that get you thinking that maybe murder is bad? He said something on battle.net. If the things he says aren't to your taste, you can just ignore him. You don't have to pay any attention to him. (You could also in the process realize a man is not six lines he says on battle.net.) Why do you need a player to be suspended from a video game team in order to evaluate the most obvious parts of your morals?

EG has every right to defend their brand. Full stop. There is zero chance his contract doesn't have a clause that states he can't act in ways that reflect badly on EG. You couldn't even say that kind of disgusting junk while working at McDonalds and not get suspended. Stephano certainly can't get away with saying it in front of a live audience while being a highly public representative of EG. Also please stop calling it a joke. He just blurted out that he abused a child. That's not a joke. You don't have a claim to the only sense of humour. Everyone finds different shit funny. Get over it.

I guess when your 14 y.o child gets fucked by some creepy french guy, you will find that shit funny and get over it. Maybe share a beer with him and make a joke about it.

And if I were raising her in a jurisdiction where 14 year olds could legally give consent, I wouldn't use that as a reason to automatically hate someone she spent time with. I don't think that'd be healthy.

All that matters is, how it looks in the eyes of america / americans, since those are the ones who give money to the sponsors and thus back to EG. let's take an exaggerated example as an analogy, let's say EG signed a player who, in another country murdered on a yearly basis. the murder itself is "legal" in the country for argument sakes. how does that look in our market? under our laws and morals of what's right and wrong? no matter what, at the end of the day the majority of us are under the impression it's "wrong" due to our (america's) law's. now i know this example is way out there, but what i'm trying to portray is, it doesn't matter what we technically think is right or how his punishment should be, even if we are right and can read inbetween the lines unlike most. all that matters is the people who give EG their money, reframe from and any negative impression / damage done to reputation because it directly affects them financially, thus affects EG financially.

Currently sponsors are what make the Esports world work right now. Literally there are limited number of cash flow channels available. You talk as if it is bad trying to please the sponsors so they can keep putting money into Esports. Remember that Esports is a growing business and as such needs to be treated as one. I already stated my points in a previous post but teams trying to set forth some kind of standard in the Esports world is admirable. A firm example is look at all the Korean teams and how they operate. Yes they might have some troll names in their lineups and quirky "ceremonies", but in the end they are very professional.

I'm sorry, how exactly will they regret upholding their reputation with their sponsors and sending a message to their player to better conduct himself? You do realize this is a business and the players are the image of the sponsor right? And I don't see why you felt the need to write your post in bright red. You didn't even make any arguments.

Pro-Players are "Professionals" that must act like one. I also agree with your post that the players are the image of their sponsors.
