Imo they had literally nothing done (except raw footage) when the cadred article was published, then they rushed to have something done in time to not look like crooks. They copy/pasted random sequences in a hurry and voilà. They didn't even released the whole thing, just a part 1, it looks like a homework you do the very morning of the day you're supposed to give your teacher back, and while in class you're still working on it (the multiple 30mn delays yesterday). It's just my idea/opinion but I wouldn't be surprised if it was close to what happened.

I agree with this, it was enjoyable and nice to watch but could've been a lot better, I am looking forward to more though ^^

The shots were clear and high quality and there were some pretty interesting interviews/behind the scenes things. Also there was a storyline, first how amazing Starcraft is, then about casting and what that brings, and then more focused on Tastosis personas. For me the movie is about Tastosis and there love for the game. I don't think a detailed description of how Starcraft works would fit in all that well, it's a lot harder to explain than smashbros. Though I'd like some more ingame shots with commentary. The only really bad thing was the music.

That does a fantastic job of introducing an outsider to the game and show them why it is beutiful. Did Alejos really think that people were interested in being told by a series of random persons multiple times that Starcraft was beutiful and a fantastic game? Probably because by the time the other documentary came out, he was already long done with his intro, and redoing it completely would only have delayed things even more.

I'd actually watch the shit out of an completely honest documentary. Showing all those storylines about the transition from BW to SC2 and the great things, but also the many problems and struggles, that eSports and Starcraft2 has - there are so many good storylines/conflicts/narratives in there. Instead of just those repetitive phrases of "this is beautiful, this great, these guys are stars now but back in school they were just nerds". Meh, different tastes maybe.

It was a showcase piece to show the community/backers what its going to be like. I actually need to check if i remember right. They discussed it on Lo3. e. So it was a "pilot episode" the creator made for the kickstarter. Sorry for misinformation. VoD of the interview with the producer. http://www.twitch.tv/onemoregametv/c/3095788 (Slasher Asks about the production, making of the film etc ~1:02:45. Answer about Kickstarter/Pilot ~1:04:25)

Whereas I was slightly bored by part 1 of Sons of Starcraft, a documentary about my 2 favorite games and two of my favorite guys in it. I completely agree with your post (I've never played that game either). Going even further than films about gamers, there is a documentary called Helvetica that really changed the way I view documentaries. That is a film about a FONT and on paper should be the dullest of dull in terms of watching a movie, but it is very interesting. That film proved to me that there is no subject that could not be made interesting given a competent filmmaker.

Anyway, keep up the good work, stay strong and looking forward to the next episodes. Oh and it touched me emotionally too, which seems to be the biggest issue reddits are bitching about. I have to admit that even tears were shed. So good.

He got is free hits from feeding into the drama and the attention he wanted. I don't think anyone owes him anything. I think we can forgive him for having a hobby and being a well round, not obsessive, crazy person. He also has a daughter, who I think might take up some of his CPU cycles.
