So your theory is that the faces of Starcraft, tastosis, would support to conn the community out of 40k dollars. So what's your take on 9/11? Inside job? And the people you are accusing have been in the community for ten years while you've had a TL account for six months.
And you can live somewhere temporarily, and it wouldn't even matter if he did move to Korea, he doesn't have to be in the states to edit the film. Your theory doesn't hold a drop of water unless he completely lied about his credentials or something. I don't know what's going on with the documentary, nor does anyone else outside of Alejos and his circle of friends. Thus, there is speculation based on what little he has said to the community. I certainly hope I am flat out wrong and that the documentary does get released at some point. It is just extremely unfortunate that he can't spend 5 minutes a month making a video talking to his backers at Kickstarter, the people who gave him this great opportunity to do something he loves. He claimed he wanted to be open in the process of making it, but he has been far from that since his initial release date has passed. So your speculation is that the most famous, ambitious, passionate faces of the SC2 community, Tasteless and Artosis, would support the scamming of the community who enables them to do what they love doing? The question about the ban i bet was because your assumption is insane and is on par with a 9/11 conspiracy theorist. There is literally no indication of such whatsoever. One can speculate that yeah he took the money and ran, but to drag Tastosis into it has no grounds whatsoever. Nothing that he has said or done has indicated this in any way other then the fact that he knows Artosis and Tasteless, a fact that would not lead any rational human being to jump to your conclusions.
Is he being the definition of unproffessional? Yes Is he a total dick for remaining silent? Yes Is it possible he ran with the cash? Yes
And if you look at the actual trailer, if you had any knowledge about film making(which you don´t) you would see that it is not "random stock footage pasted together" but carefully selected shots and sequences that have been shot and editted together with thought. And further it has also been through post(yea i can tell it has).
So stop fueling the useless speculation debate with your ignorant theories about how things are progressing. If you really want to give your theory any merit, hunt down his credentials(he claimed to have worked for some museum and other stuff) and check them out. Atleast do something as constructive as that. If not then just stop posting, seriously.

i am not sure how this whole twitter thing works, but i dont see anyone complaining on twitter. why doesnt someone who actually paid go on twitter and blow up sonsofstarcraft, artosis and tasteless' twitters? if you want to hold them accountable, i would think that is where you go. (i am not sure tastosis' exact involvement, but if they threw their support behind it then they should be questioned as well.)
i was disappointed to read like 70 messages and there is still no update from anyone.

Yeah almost no one seems to be talking about it on Twitter, actually. If you just search for "sons of starcraft" you can see everybody who mentioned it. Almost none.

It's a fun thing to think about, just exactly how easy it would be to stop this, that's why I can't blame people for concluding the reason for the silence is that everything has gone terribly wrong somewhere. I think the conspiracies of them using money to move to Korea are a bit tin-foily, but, with stuff like the signed posters and delays, it's pretty clear they have completely fucked up somewhere and are hiding in shame instead of fessing up or whatever. I mean it's been said several times and places on forums/reddit that they don't respond to emails or anything like that, pretty damning sign in my opinion.
We might see the documentary some day, but regardless, it's a safe assumption that we're dealing with a pretty serious case of mismanagement on a lot of fronts, both in regards to PR and the film-making itself.
Pretty much this. When the creator claims he wants to be open while making the documentary, then is far from it during the process it really is disheartening. IMO it would have helped keeping the project on pace as when you are interacting with your audience, you will see how hungry they are for what you are creating and it very well could have helped motivate him to keep up with it more. Not to mention when it is finally released, he will be reaping the profits so you would think he would have wanted it done in a timely manner.

I didn't bring them into it, they did when they backed him in making this documentary, that is all I said. I never said they knew if he truly had ulterior motives, nor do I know if he truly does, nor does anyone given the complete lack of updates from him.

Everyone is ignorant when it comes to what is going on with this documentary. No one knows what is going on because Alejos has gone silent, thus there is speculation and will continue to be speculation. All it would take is 5 minutes for him to tweet something, post an update on Kickstarter, or email his investors who are asking him questions and all the speculation would go away.
The last thing I could find Alejos did was this Nestea interview done for Machinima, which Tasteless tweeted about. At least Alejos is making money since moving to Korea, using equipment more than likely procured from the Kickstarter funding. I wonder if he will thank his Kickstarter backers?
Edit: Also, breaking news on the release date from Tumba!!

Well then you have a good reason to be upset. I would let tasteless or artosis know you think the creator ran off with you money. I'm not convinced that posting in this thread does a lot.
I don't see how posting about this issue on the biggest community site for SC2 doesn't help. It raises awareness to people in the community thus elevating the pressure on the creator of the supposed documentary. If there is something fishy going on, then sending a pm to his Kickstarter info won't do jack shit. Letting everyone know that he might be a total fraud will, however, do something. It might not get their money back, but making sure the moron who scammed them has a destroyed reputation within the SC2 community will surely be enough for many.

hahahaha artosis and tasteless ran off around 42,000 dollars.

So, I'm curious about why anyone who hasn't financially backed this project even cares about it. Totally unprofessional, jerking people around, all you have to do is look at the OP of this thread posting 11 months ago wondering wtf is going on with it to realize this is pretty much a laughingstock at this point.
Any content that would be in the "documentary" feels like it would be irrelevant anyway at this point.

Because it's a cool idea? Just because people didn't feel like funding this doesn't mean they don't ever want to see something of the sort come out.

For those who have been hardcore fans since the beginning? Sure. But I'm constantly surprised at how many new fans there are on TL and I'd imagine other SC2 sites only have more, so I've no doubt they'd enjoy some insight into the past, legacy and maybe personal life of arguably the most famous SC2 casters.

But frankly, the amount of time they're taking and lack of updates is quite ludicrous, I'm glad I didn't donate anything to any of the documentaries, I can't say I didn't see it coming, the people who were asking for money had literally no credentials from what I saw. It was just a bunch of people who wanted to make documentaries, but then found they were way in over their head.
this lol.
you are pretty much donating your money to people who wanted to take a couple years off and travel to every major sc2 event...on someone else's dollar... because how else would they go to an event/afford their rent without working? I know. theyll host a kickstarter project to fund their "documentary".
meh called this when the kickstarter was announced. In the future if any1 wants to pay my hotel/ticket costs for future events ill take some video footage and have more of a documentary than these guys have produced so far.

Sucks for the people who donated

Honestly aside from a moment of laughter, Artosis and Tasteless should be held at the very least partially responsible for associating themselves with the documentary and not giving any acknowledgement towards it's existence for a while. They advertised their documentary, made off handed comments about how great it'll be in State of the Game (i think), how everything was filmed and....now what?
42,000 dollars is a good sum of money at this point should be refunded or some shit. It seriously wouldn't be hard for people to tap either Artosis or Tasteless on the shoulder and ask what the fuck is going on. They have the right to be pissed off and the people behind this documentary should own up to that.

At the end of the day, the community is down $40k and the goods are nowhere to be see. It's incompetence at the very least or a malicious scam at it's worst. I'd say that Artosis/Tasteless were just was keen for a documentary as everyone else was and they're just as eager for it as we are. They might have had good contact with this guy before; that doesn't mean they know what's going on now. Either way it would be to everyone's benefit if anyone in the know; came forward to shed some light.

Well when you are famous and you put your name on something you are going to be taken partially responsible for it. Them not saying anything whatsoever about it is not the way to handle this and will stay a black mark till the point they address it.

Wow you are actually more annoying than the people who are complaining about something insignificant like expecting the release of a product in a timely fashion that has had nearly fifty thousand dollars thrown at it. Are you personally taking up the defense or what because you seem to respond to everyone who has posted that has a problem with this situation.

uh Big sc2 project doesn't come true, because community figures try to rip the fanbase off? Now THATS something new...
btw, are there any legal binding terms that can be applied to kickstarter? Meaning: if you have a clear case of somebody running of with the money and never working on his kickstarter project, can you sue him if you donated and were promised the product fot this?

I think the wording "donation" protects them from you. The only thing I could imagine would be some sort of fraudulent act, posing as a charitable organization or some shit.
